Alternator Ultra Magnus

Looking good! It's nice to see another take aside from the plain white look.

I used the Alt Prime head combined with a simple cast of Silver Streak's face section on my Alt Rodimus Prime. I just made him look a tad meaner. But it's a simple technique that may get you the kind of look you seem to be after. If you're interested, I describe it in more detail in this thread:

different, but still pretty slick.

it's a nice variation with all the white versions.

Bout time someone did this....

did you not ever see mine?

Hey STP, where did you find that head?

Octopus prime, i like that custom and the idea of casting stuff inthe green stuff and i will use it for my night beat custom

here's how he currently looks, i've decided to go with an altered alt streak head (previously on my Nightbeat) as i don't think i want to try doing the green stuff just yet and it should be simple enough to sand the side of the face down and get rid of the side horns and add pipes to create my Magnus.

Stp. i don't really think they are very similar at all, which i'm proud of as it makes mine that much more special to me.

this in turn means prime's helmet will go to nightbeat below and my alt streak has inherited the nightbeat head with orange rubbed off in places, you can't tell because of the camera but it looks like rust and battle damage

i didn't mean he looked like mine, i was just responding to his comment about all white repaints. i don't think your's looks like mine either.

i have decided about what to do about his head whilst looking at it in a hi res pic i took. Yup i finally got a proper digital camera. 5.2 megapixal too.

shame image shack is being a Starscream and not uploading it

i'm going to remove the horns and give him a couple of short horns at the side instead. i think that should be magnusy enough unless i get some green stuff to make some bigger eyes with

Love it! Your color application is so smoothe. Can you tell me what you did to get it so smoothe and the paint you used? Brushes and etc? Whats "Green Stuff"?

i just applied paint with a brush in one direction slowly and smoothly ensureing there weren't too many brushmarks. check Octopus Prime's link to find out about green stuff

here's the high res pic i took (shrunk down because it would have stretched the board frame beyond belief

Right. I finally finished up the head

I took off the edge of the horns, smoothed it over with green stuff and made some antennas out of it too.

plus as a treat here's a picture of my classics Megatron. (No point giving him a new thread.)

and my Classics Cliffjumper.

Cliffjumper was a disappointment straight out of the package. due to a serious QC problem, the pin that connects the legs wasn't applied properly and therefore he could not transform properly to either mode.

i decided i would take pity on him and fix him up rather than return him (plus it was quite a walk) and went the whole hog and used Green stuff to sculpt the side of his head and create him a gun. Cliffjumper owes me his life cos any sane person would have returned him but I'm glad i didn't.
