oy. I was hoping you wouldn't say that. ;)

We'll see if I have time to break out the paint today.

Thanks for the encouragement, man!

I've always been afraid of panel lining, and weathering in general because of the ability to completely screw your project up. I know you can use those pens, but I'm not a big fan of those as they look really "synthetic." If I want panel lines, I'm going the way of future and a diluted wash to create weathering, and I just don't have the skills to do that. I think I'm just going to whip out the spray can again for the black stripes and hand paint the yellow details, though both Testors yellows I have suck ass... I wish my local shop would carry better colors.

I think this units perfect as is. Damn I need to get one of those but if I do, I'll become a Robotech junky again. I cannot go back to that, I will not. Argh.

Anywho.....

Panel lining the easy way. (Any future projects)

Use a two part paint system for all paint work.

Once hardened, spray over everything with black.

Wipe surfaces with precleano or thinner. Any crease or low spot will remain black while the rest comes clean. This will only work on something that uses a catalyst otherwise the whole thing gets ruined and nobody likes that.

I love what you've did here! I actually have the stuff to make mine right now, but it's going to be a while before I get to it......Between commissions and making my own customs, I have 6 of my own to do before I get to it.

Hands down one of the best Skyfire/Jetfire customs I've seen! Fantastic work!

WOW... that is an amazing job for Skyfire! I confess I envy your superior skill and sense of TF beauty. I feel woefully inadequate on this board... Not even worthy to comment further.

Hey guys,

A ton of people have contacted me about buying this guy since I posted it, but I've lost all the info. Well, in order to finance an engagement ring, I'm selling it all, including this figure, so if you would like to take a look please feel free to check out the "Masterpiece Jetfire" auction

Thanks!

Lovely, lovely job there mate.

Could you post links to the other customs of the same figure you mentioned in your first post please?

Cheers!

Well, I didn't really make any galleries for it. If you want, you can see it in a big lot of Alts/BT's I'm selling here. It's towards the bottom. Came out pretty nice if you ask me. ;)

Thanks for the kind words!

i've really never like jf, but i'm feeling this.

someone needs to make a toon head and slap it on there to see what it looks like.

WOW that's pretty awesome!
