ALERT! Movie Dlx figs at TRU in Downers Grove, IL, on Butterfield Rd. east of I-355.

They had several: Longarm, Dropkick, Dreadwing, and Payload, and one Final Battle Jazz and one Recon Barricade; I bought that Barricade and Dropkick. They also had 13 Leader Brawls! Go get 'em!

I picked up info on this place from Seibertron.com IIRC. Sounded interesting, so I drove up there today, a few minutes form home. They were closed, with no phone # or hours listed anywhere. What they had was mind-boggling (to me at least)! A couple G1 re-issue TFs, MP Megatron, MP Starscream, a bunch of awesome Gundam figs, and various oher cool plastic robot-type dealies.

They have a website on their door, which looks like jptoy.com, but that leads nowhere. I tried jptoys.com, but that's a Jurassic Park site. Tried jrtoy.com and got some kid's homepage. I got their number (847-640-1124) from the yellow pages, but there's just a generic answering machine msg.

Looks like a fun place to browse at the very least.

Went to KMart (Des Plaines, IL, Mannheim Rd. and Oakton St.) tonight after dropping off my mom's car at Just Tires to get a flat fixed. They had 2 08 BB's (!), a Final Battle Jazz (grabbed him), a Longarm, and a Dreadwing. One or 2 each of Robot Replicas BB, Megs, and Barricade, and a handful of Voy Megs and Prime. Some G1 Robot Heroes, and some Voice Changer helmets (can't remember if they were Chalk or Cullen). Only 2 Real Gears, on sale for $6.

Everything is a little more expensive than other places, like $12 for Dlxs instead of 10, but all TF toys were on sale, 10% off, so I only paid less than a dollar more for Final Jazz. I bought him bec. (a) I've become a complete TF whore, and (b), he's got cooler damage details than I originally thought. Plus the gun. Yay. Hit those KMarts, pee-PLE! Harch!

Your faithful spotter here, just saw several Bumblebee "Evolution" 2-packs at Target in Wooddale, IL, on Irving Park Rd near Prospect Ave. On sale for $15.99. I almost bit, even tho I already have both BBs bec. the battle-damaged Concept BB looks pretty cool in robot mode. Got the Prime and BB Beamer lights instead, clearanced for $3.74!

Fry's Electronics in Downer's Grove, just off I-355 and Butterfield Rd. has the Allspark Dlxs- Landmine, Cliffjumper, and Camshaft, several of each! (Also many many Ldr Primes.) Go now!

The bad news, they're $12, but worth it IMHO to avoid another Concept BB hunt. I grabbed 2 Landmines (to recreate the movie scene where 2 of these buggies are escorting Bumblbee w/ the Allspark) and a Cliffjumper (bec. I have Classics CJ, I just got Energon CJ, and God help me, I'm starting to like this Camaro).

Wow, this forum's dead.

ANIMATED FIGS at Walmart in Darien, 75th St. They had Dlx Cybertron Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Black Arachnia, Prowl, and the Battle Begins 2-pack, as well as Voyager Cyb. Megatron, Bulkhead, and Starscream. They're not with the Movie TFs, but on an aisle display off the the end of the toy section. HTH

FWIW I grabbed BB, Ratchet, and SS.

Snagged PCC Dinobots and Constructicons at Wal-Mart in Bolingbrook. They had space for them on the shelves, but they didn't scan. The cashier said that they weren't supposed to be out on the shelves, but she let me buy them for the posted price.

Hey guys, thought I would post something in here finally! Don't really know how the rules work anymore, but I know on TFW they kind of let us talk amongst ourselves in the sightings thread. Anyway, Thought I would say what's up and introduce myself, even if I have been a member here for.. a long.. LONG time, LOL. Anyway, if I find anything worth posting about, I'll try to post it here! Deliciouspeter, I didn't know you were an IL member, I always enjoyed your repaints back in the day :).

    • Crankcase is hilarious. It's so awful and awesome at the same time. The entire front of the vehicle comes off, turns sideways, has a little piece flip around and becomes a gun. Ever since we first seen pictures of him I was wondering what they were doing with the front of his vehicle/chest. I never would've expected that though. It sure is a different design choice that's for sure. I can't wait for the upgrade kit to give him his shoulder cannons. I wonder how those will be implemented. I hope at least better than SS86 Jazz's shoulder cannon. Dead End is what it is still. Nothing to really talk about. I still don't like how Hasbro makes the lower legs longer than the upper legs for Transformers constantly though. Many of their designs would work better with longer upper legs like Dead End. Pointblank looks good. I understand the hate some have but I don't have that same hate. I just hate the Targetmaster still. We just had better ones that they're still using. Did it really cost that much to add one in at this point? Sure it's double the parts count and isn't gangmolded but still, it's not like Pointblank himself is all that complicated to begin with and the Battlemasters have long since made their money back with using those molds. They could've moved him into a wave with reissues or slight retools to eat some of the cost for that wave too instead of having it a wave with major retools and new molds entirely. Again, I can't wait to see the upgrade kit to give him that engine block spoiler gun thing to finish off the center rear of the vehicle mode. Hopefully they'll remember to put a 5mm port in the middle of it for a Targetmaster. Yeah Peacemaker already fills that spot but we all know that someone is going to make that piece to fit there. Skullgrin looks good but I don't like it as Skullgrin. I still think the original Generations Skullgrin is better overall. I do like all the weapons on this new one though. I'm just a little confused about what the vehicle mode is really supposed to be. It has treads in the back but nothing in the front. Is it a tank? Is it a half-track? Is it a hover tank? What is it? That head is awesome though and beats the older head by quite a bit. Transmetal II Megatron. Transmetal II Megatron. Wow. I just hope that the dragon neck/upper chest area is mistransformed. Or that something can be done. That was very much a bad choice if that's indeed all it can be. I can't wait to have to tighten up all those ball joints to get everything just like I want. Cryotek is the obvious redeco but I want one more other than him. I seen a digibash of him as RiD 2001 Megatron/Gigatron and while it looks good, I don't want that. I'd much rather have this redone as Beast Wars II Galvatron. It's not like the drill tank was all that much better than TMII Megatron's dragster so it's easy to leave out. Once you take out the drill tank, the dragons don't look too dissimilar to each other at that point. Yeah Galvatron didn't have a dragon arm but I'll take what I can get when it comes to a new toy for him.
