I think at that point most people would be like "pssh, yeah right" and not so angry about it. IMO

I have no sympathy for completists. I do have sympathy for people who just like a certain character and can't get it because of ridiculous pricing.

I used completists as an example, as I'm sure you know. I couldn't give two sh*ts about dirge and thrust, but f*ing thundercracker? what a joke.

I found a Classics SS a few days ago, so I will be making my own Thundercracker. If that goes well, I might even make my own Dirge and maybe a Thrust after that. I figure that Dirge can be made by sawing off the tail fins on Ramjet and gluing them to the forward wing area.

Dirge looks good. Although his eyes should be red, and his deco should be more classics themed.

 

con exclusives are never sold at a later date by Hasbro, ever.

A specific character or figure is a bit more understandable and sympathetic a situation than a completionist's. It's hard for me to imagine there are that many "poor souls" who own every single figure of a given toyline. If they can afford an entire toyline, they probably won't be hurt that much by the exclusive set.

Good luck. By the looks of the activity in the kitbash/customs forum, ye'll have lots of company and plenty of help available for tips. Sure the guys on Transtopia would be willing to offer any tips or suggestions too.

There is no reason at all why Hasbro couldn't have made a two-pack with Thundercracker and... I dunno, Nemesis Grimlock or someone. It's not like Hasbro is averse to repaints.
