Can confirm from a bunch of pics that he is fittingly a WW2 german army pistol.

Found this pic and curiosly noticed the serial numbers on the barrel part of the slide near the P38 stamp almost look like a decepticon insignia too...maybe its just me

Yes, the Walther P38 was made to be the standard issue for Heer officers I believe.

I believe this is general knowledge.

p38 literally stands for pistol '38 where 38 is the year of its adoption. It was basically an upgrade from the Luger (P-11 I think?)

That stamp is the Walther company logo. I guess a stylized "W" is sorta Decepticon symbolish.

That's kind of neat.

However, as nice as my MP Megatron will be to show off, the only one I won't show it to is my grandfather who fought in WW2.

I knew about Megatron's alt's origin already, but when I saw that pic I thought the serial tag was a Decepticon symbol. >.> That was cool.

Reminds me of when my Grandpa (passed) that served in WWII saw my Destroyer Gobot toy as a kid. He hated it, since it is designed after a Tiger Tank, and he served in the Battle of the Bulge.

Though he was a walther p38, the add ons and whatnot come from the Walther p-38 used by the man from uncle in the tv serries. http://www.geocities.com/futuristgroup/vmegatrons.html

So did I
