It's just confusing to me that fans of a franchise would use the term "G1" to distinguish one continuity from other lines/continuities within the same entire franchise, yet use it to inclusively refer to its own competitor franchises of its time.

 

Who does that?

 

I've never used the term "G1" to refer to anything but the official Transformers of that era. I understand the difference, even though I recognize it's a difference that only exists, ultimately, based on who owned the copyright, and nothing else (i.e. no design or other asthetic differences).

 

I have to agree with Pete's wife, this is getting silly. You've taken my ironic comment, an attempt (however poor) at humor, and turned in to the kind of discussion that requires a specific definition of G1. Geez, man, it was just a joke.

Its a new age. We haven't had G1 since G1. I'm all for evolution. Even if its not what we hope it to be, I'm greatful we're seeing something done. Right or Wrong its still amazing to see.

You need to listen to your own advice. I made the G1 accusation, as a joke. The original poster has replied in the thread several times since then, often in response to my posts, and has yet to take issue with the accusation (possibly because its accurate, but probably because he recognized the joke).

 

With the exception of Pete quoting my post, not one post even mentioned G1 again until you joined the discussion.

Nothing you said makes my post an attack on the movie as the replies have taken it as. I'd appreciate it if you stopped making insinuations to such.

 

And yeah, were I to make any joke in even remotely the same vein, I'd get reamed to all hell and back like already happened just from answering another person's question before in the previous thread. More like hypocrisy.
