Okay, I don't see the tab to trim, OR how to get at it if it's what I THINK it might be. Any closeups of that part? Also, I don't have a dremel, but I have an X-acto, a steady hand, and a lot of patience. :D

:redface i pulled the thing to far when transforming him so i had no choice. nailclippers do actually cut that bit quite well

Guys, this tab is basically impossible to get to until you force the canopy back and that's why it's so hard to find. I was about to ask for pics myself, but since the local stores are rife with Mirage I just took a risk and forced the part. Awesome mod, Devil! Where did you get the hands? Where do you store his original gun? (Doesn't look like the hands could support it.)

The hands are from some old gundam figures.... as well as the buster rifle.

 

(The original hands are still there... just closed. I drilled a hole in the closed hands and inserted the gundam ones. If you remove the extra hands, the original ones still flip out with no problem)

 

The original gun is actually still there, it's in the posted pics. There is a vertical tab on the top of the original gun that fits perfectly in the blue cover tab on the top of his car mode. (Mid back on the robot mode)

Can you show us orthagonal (side, back) views to better see what's going on with the canopy, too?
