Well, the characters are meant to represent those toys - t'was confirmed by the Forward/DiTillio. They just never got Earthen Beast Modes since they never travelled to prehistoric Earth. Hasbro dictates which toys are to appear in the show, and they didn't instruct Mainframe to use any of the BW gestalts, most likely due to the prohibitive costs involved in animating a gestalt team in CG - the regular BW Transformers were expensive enough to animate as it was. The way that they introduced Tripredacus in the show - shrouded in shadow to hide lack of detail in the cheaply cobbled CG models - was a great way of showing the characters in the show without breaking the bank. It's not so much the fact that Hasbro didn't "allow" them to have Tripredacus in the show as a gestalt, it's the fact that Hasbro would not have funded the production of having a gestalt in the show.

Rodr-Evil: we're trying to use more imaginative ways of connecting TFs other than just using names and alt modes all the time. Please try.
