movie megatron's alt form is...

then do you know where i can find a more credible source that debunks his Razor-Rantings? something i can link to when another anti-movie jerkweed brings them up again?

I think trench's response above is sufficient.

It's "March" if anything Pete. :D

Meaning I AM NOT TRENCH!

This "information" came out a while ago in an interview with Shia LaBeouf (sp?), who's an actor who knows nothing about military aircraft.

There is no such thing as a "Razor" jet - my guess is that he confused the film's use of the F22 Raptor, which was a bit of a coup for the production, with Megatron's sharp-edged apperance.

oh come on. if actors were smart, they would get real jobs instead of relying on their good looks and ability to play pretend. not saying that LeBeouf is a lousy actor, just that he's probably not all that intelligent.

Actually, wouldn't that make them pretty smart? They are capitalizing on their talents/gifts.

Lets pretend I'm an actor, who is good looking, can remember my lines well, and can "play pretend" very good.....I would have to be an IDIOT if I didn't go ahead and do some acting.

Instead I'm average looking, and work at a Wastewater Treatment Facility.....whose the idiot? :redface

"Transformers" is the first movie to feature F-22's, right?

I think Hulk had CGI F22's. This is the first film where they'll be filming actual real-life ones flying around and stuff.

Considering the fact that the F22 is supposed to be more stealthy than the F117, my guess is that LaBeouf heard a lot of similar facts about it secondhand and assumed it was some new design that had recently been declassified - although everyone's known about it for almost twenty years.

Is the cool thing about the F22 that it can go F-15 speed w/o afterburners?

yeah but an F-15 is slow compared to a X-15

But the X-15 is less attractive than X-23.

Burn.

I think lebouf is a decent actor with much potential. I also am constantly amazed at how peopel think they know how the filmmaking industry works and how they know how smart and actor or director or producer or grip or whoever is.

judgmental ignorant douchebags the lot of you.

Good point. The only thing I know for sure about the Movie industry is that no one knows how it works. Its incredibly cutthroat. People who make it to where we know their names are one in a million or more. Take Hollywood for what it is. Entertainment. There is nothing real about it when its done well.

just would like to point out -

acting = real job

saying acting's not a real job = bright green jealousy

I just love it when people throw around "get a real job" about anything... when people make money, it's a real job. Hell - some jobs are illegal, like hit man and drug dealer. No bennies either! :P but those are jobs... a job is defined as something you do to make money...that's it.

I would get that too about my financial work. "why don't you get a real job"....big fingers!

not to mention, nobody here is getting paid to research anything about this movie...

Shia could rock back with "you guys spend countless hours researching stuff about me and the movie i'm in for free, while i'm sitting back, having been paid and moved on to something else."

or something wittier than that...

Hmm.

Well this is an interview that AICN did with Shia back in September. And he said the same thing, "Razor", not once but twice. He seems pretty sure that that's what it is.

Here's the link to the interview, which is great BTW -- HOWEVER THERE ARE SOME PRETTY BIG SPOILERS IN THE INTERVIEW so click at your own risk:

For those who just want the relevant bit with the "Razor", here it is:

QUINT: I'm curious how that's going to translate. I don't mind that [Megatron's]a jet so much because even as a kid I thought it was a bit weird that the king of all badass villain robots could turn into a gun that somebody else had to use. It kind of took some of his power away...

SHIA LABEOUF: Right, right. That's sort of what Soundwave was about. Those characters all had meaning because Megatron needed that crutch. Now that that's gone, it's done in other ways. Megatron's crutch now is

that he's frozen

. But it's modernized. You can't have a toy gun. You've got 9 year olds watching this movie and yes, we're creating mythology, but you can't make a toy gun your antihero and then have Hasbro go out and sell toy guns with the little yellow cap on it, you know? It'll look fuckin' ridiculous to have Megatron with a yellow nose, you know what I mean? It'd look retarded. [bTW Classics Megs irony roffles - Pete]

The fact that it's a Razor, a plane that nobody's seen before, that the military is giving us... that nobody has filmed or seen. I mean, CNN has not seen this plane and we're filming it. It's cool. It gives it that edgy shit. People have seen guns before, but to make Megatron something that nobody's ever seen and make it an edgy presence... it does, it modernizes it and makes it dangerous again. Guns aren't dangerous. How crazy is that to say? But guns aren't dangerous! You've got guns in movies that aren't dangerous at all, you know? I feel like HERBIE THE LOVE BUG could have had a gun and nobody would have questioned it, you know?

QUINT: Maybe stashed in the glove compartment...

SHIA LABEOUF: (laughs) Exactly, it could have been in the glove compartment! But a Razor, you know, with nuclear weapons... Nuclear weapons is what's dangerous. In the '80s it was the gun, but we've been (desensitized), so you've got to amp it up a little bit. And Michael Bay is the dude to amp everything up!

That post pretty much sums up my opinion of all the "armchair critics" here. I often think when I'm on the internets "Would I give this moron the time of day IRL?" & to be quite blunt, I wouldn't with most Transformers fans. In case anyone hasn't noticed (or cared) I've stayed out of most of the talking here lately, simply because I've been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stupidity in general. I'm looking forwards to the movie & the toys (& other crap) that comes with it & I don't think anyone here would be capable of doing a better job. There's a select few people who I think are intelligent here (a better ratio than any other TF forum I'd like to add) but some of the idiocy I hear [read] getting thrown about here just makes my eyes do 360's from rolling them so much. When they have their "talent" noticed & they're working on TF:TM#2 - THEN I'll listen to their opinions. :roll xBrazillion

I just HAD to get that out of my system. It's been said now, carry on people! :tfgrin

Meh, Intelligence on teh interwebs is highly overated.

;)

But yeah, that's basically how I feel about the endless debates be it abot design/director/approach. I know I for one couldn't do a better job so I have no problem accepting the work & effort that is going into this movie. I also have no problem accepting that this is just that, a movie. It's not like this in anyway is going to impact how I feel about Transformers now or years to come. If the movie rocks, fantastic I'll probably buy it, if not it won't be like castration or anything. Just saying.

Oh & if anybody has yet to see Megatron's design/concept art I have it posted with others in my Myspace profile. :thumb

I still think LaBeouf's confusing things with the Raptor. Especially because in one of the early interviews with Bay, Bay went out of his way to mention that this was the first film to "feature" the Raptor - and how exciting that was.

Plus, I sincerely doubt that the US military would utilize a summer movie to declassify the existence of a previously secret aircraft.

There's a whole lot of people who follow military aviation and "secret things the government is up to," and nothing on any of their websites or forums has ever mentioned an actual secret "Razor" jet - although, on one of these forums a guy did ask about the new "Razor" that was appearing in the Transformers movie. He pretty much got laughed at by the regular posters - who ridiculed him with pictures of a TMNT toy called the "Razor Jet."
