i can't help it, soundwave is Powerglideing awsome!!! the big crotch sucks, but it isn't as bad as it looks in the pics, however i am biased because i just love soundwave. the tape door is alot tighter than i expected but his legs are floppy and fall off VERY easily. lazerbeak is awesome too. havn't opened rodimus yet

Soundwave is meh to me. I love the character, but honestly his 26 year old original design is far superior to the Titanium version. Which is kinda funny. I'm of the opinion that if they couldn't improve on it, they should have left well enough alone. The floopy legs and diaper crotch jsut turn me off to this release. He jsut doesn't look good. He's out of proportion and a poor design.

like i said, i'm biased :-P

dunno why, but it just doesn't stand out to me in person.

as for rodimus.... i think my expectations where higher than they should have been. don't get me wrong, he's Powerglideing great, and the tallest of the 6 inchers so far (as far as I know, optimal might be a bit taller but yea.... didn't like him), not to mention that he's just Powerglideing beefy. no loose-ness or strange balancing, so they're getting close to getting it right. his waist is a bit too small though, his windshield doesn't line up properly in alt mode, the wing is on a backpack, so it just looks weird (not to mention it folds up into a point in alt-mode), and the way his shoulders are designed he can't look sideways, but i'm VERY pleased with him, suffice to say they where well worth the $30 i dropped on them, thankfully it's xmas and i just got my xmas money.

wow wave 3 didn't last long did it? i wish i'd have not passed on scourge though, so i'll pick him up at my next opportunity. so far this wave has been the most poseable wave i've picked up yet (i passed on megs and wave 3), with roddy being the more poseable of the two, SW wouldn't be so hard to balance if they'd have giving him longer heels, but he's more poseable than jetfire, op, and thudercracker.

and here I thought Jetfire was the most poseable, since he can look up. Scourge would be the absolute best if his head were able to turn but because he can't, he gets a 9.5 out of 10.

jmo, jetfire's poseablitiy realy sucks, he may be able to look up, but his knees are useless. soundwave's knees are alright, but you hafta realy concentrate to get them semi-bent, it also helps to fiddle with the slidding of his legs, making one shorter than the other. done properly it isn't realy that noticeable. the only problem i have with rodi as far as poseability is that his elbow keeps slowly falling straight, and damnit he's got rubber gun syndrom.

I'd have to agree. Soundwave looks much better in person than he did in the pics. I may post a full review with pics at some point but I just don't have the time right now.

The huge crotch is unfortunate, and for the life of me, I can't see why a collapsing mechanism couldn't have been employed in there somewhere. I'm not an engineer, but there appears to be plenty of room within the pelvis halves to come up with a half way decent sliding mechanism to remedy this. Speaking of sliding mechanisms, the floppy legs and sliding connections are annoying but not quite as annoying as the short foot design which leads to major instability in the balancing and standing departments. For whatever reason, the designers chose to include useless knee joints in the leg design. I say "useless" because they are not used in the transformation scheme and there is no way to pose the fig with bent knees without some sort of pivoting leg or waist design which this guy is lacking. The alt mode is cool ,but on mine, his legs do not fold upwards at a perfect right angles which causes the speakers/leg to sag outward slightly. If I extend the telescoping thigh piece slightly, the leg sits flush with the torso and fixes this problem. If the posts used to secure the legs to the torso in alt mode were a tighter fit, this probably wouldn't be as much of an issue as it is.

The accessories and details are what really makes this figure shine IMO. His weapon collapses and stores along with his sensor in a battery compartment on his back. The "batteries" have a nice glossy black finish on them and even have the +/- polarity symbols molded into them. Laserbeak folds up into a mini cassette and fits nicely into Soundwave's cassette door. The cassette door itself is made of translucent plastic which allows you to see the internal cassette player paint apps on Soundwave's chest. A small, but nice touch. The overall paint apps are also very detailed and really well done here. They definitely give him that classic G1 animated feel.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but, with this particular design, Soundwave probably would have been better off if he had been done in plastic instead of die-cast. And this coming from someone who LOVES die-cast.

I'm looking forward to finding Roddy, but I'm a little hesitant about that tiny waist connection. My poor Jetfire is still leaning to the left due to a very similarly designed small waist connection.

As far as this line is concerned, Thundercracker still reigns supreme in design, engineering, construction, and overall stability.

I'm looking for Rodimus. And greatly anticipating WWI Megs, The fallen, and Sunstorm.

no worries about roddy's waist. jetfire's is designed to fold up, roddy's isn't so theres no problem at all. he's probably one of the most stable of the Titanium's as far as standing goes. the only problem i'm having out of him is that his arms are die-cast and the pin isn't tight enough in his right arm to keep it extended. which seems to be the biggest problem with the line, too much die-cast. just like soundwaves leg connecters and extending parts, the joints that hold them in place aren't tight/secure enough to hold the weight. SW's legs disconnect far too easily, and he's got a g1 SW lean to him when he's standing strait up which i realy dislike, and yea his feet are a problem, but i'm still happy with him and don't regret the $15 i paid, i just wish i would have waited for the buy two get one free deal. also, if your patient enough, you can pose SW with knees bent, it just takes some manipulating of the feet and legs.

My Rodimus and Soundwave arrive Friday. :thumb

I eagerly await opening Roddy, Soundwave.....well, I think he'll be staying in his box. :tdown

Rodimus is teh sweet - Soundwave is teh sux.

That is all!
