There was thet giant version of Leader one. Ive agot a banged and smashed up version which was rather nice.

Have you guys ever seen the Machine Robo Rock Lords Gestalt (Combiner) called Fossilsaurus?

A little weird in shape but very rare....especially in Giftset packaging!!

I had a rock lord back in the day, I thought they were cool for about half a minute. I remember Leader one was highly sought after in my elementary school playground....he was on the same level as Optimus Prime or Starscream momentarily among kiddies in the '80's. Tonka rushed out Go-Bots to try and catch up with Hasbro's Transformers.

And for a while, it seemed like a heated competition, but looking back, I think it's obvious who won the war.

PS: In the mid eighties...one of my most sought after toys was the hot-wheels sized red sports car Go-Bot...anyone remember his name?

Gobots were okay. I just drafted them into whichever cybertronian side I thought they'd look good with and kept it like that. The only gobots that really amounted to anything were the deluxe figures and since there were so bloody few, I stuck with TF. That and as bad as the TF show was, it was work of brilliance next to the Gobot show. The new machine robo line is lookin' somethin' uber secksi though... All that rampant combining, and the new figures are quite the lovely sight to behold. They're still not TF, but that's why I'm still with the franchise.

As for Rock Lords, my parents and Grandparents ambushed me with the entire launch assortment of Rock Lords figures. I had a lot of the figures and a vehicle or two as I recall. They really sucked, but they were kind of fun to take with me on trips to Sedona where I'd play around... you know... rocks. Think I lost one or two as a result of that.

I like Go-Bots. Still have many from when I was a kid like Turbo, CyKill, Crasher (back & white versions), Vamp, Baron Von Joy (super) etc.

While I'm a Transformers fan first, I still have a place in my heart for those old Go-Bots.
