Have you ever gotten anyone else

As most of you probably don't know, I'm a slave to the giraffe..er...work for Toys R Us (please don't PM me about upcoming sales, promotions, or hatred for the store/company as I am only a simple associate with extremely little power.)

Anyways, while I was at work today, some little kid runs up to me to excitedly tell me that he's turning 5 on Monday. I decide to play along with him, wishing him a happy b-day and all that jazz..then his parents ask me what would be a good toy to get him..

I swear I had a gleam in my eye as I told them that he'd probably get a good kick out of TransFormers. After a quick explanation of how they're robots that can turn into cars and other things, they seem really interested, as did the little boy. I show them a few of the simple Energon figures to start him off, and he immediately falls in love with them. I think he ended up getting Strongarm, Skyblast, Prowl, and Snowcat (easier to transform at his age, and they stay together, unlike most mini-cons) by the time his parents had had enough of their wallet being drained.

After they left, it dawned on me that he'll probably be back to get another fix of these beloved robots. I felt really good getting a kid addicted to TF. :D

Anyone else here get a youngun into TransFormers? I'd like to hear how you or anyone you know got into them, and if you had anything to do with it.

with me getting back into TFs, my bro got the bendy prime just for the fun of it, and one of my best friends wanted the reissue prime for Chrsitmas last year, but that hasn't spawned into anything yet.

I cant really say I'm hot on the idea of getting little kids into Tranformers. Why? Well we dont need the little youngsters trying to swallow some of the parts and then having the parents threatening lawsuits. God we have lawsuit happy people running around enough already. And besides we dont need Hasbro to have another excuse of why they had to change something in their TF line. :tflaugh

When I started getting back into it (Armada Unicron release drew me back in after a while. Now strongly, strongly regretting giving away some of my old Beast Wars figures), I managed to drag a few friends in with me. :tfgrin

The problem with getting little kids addicted is not them choking and sueing Hasbro, the problem is that's one more soccer mom at Christmas killing people to get the latest toys for them...

On topic, I actually managed to get my boyfriend hooked on Alternators. He has Smokes and Sideswipe, did the "surgery" on Swipe, and anxiously awaits Hound :D HAHAHA, it really just means that when I'm at his house, I still have something to play with :)

my nephew.

he was power rangers addict when he was younger and kinda starting to lose interest in any kind of robot toys. then i started getting him beast wars figures and it's all been downhill ever since. the funny thing is, at the time i wasn't collecting myself so once i got that tase of transformers goodness again, along with finding the wonders of ebay, i also hooked myself again!

my nephew will be starting high school next year and much to my sisters disgust, his appetite for tf's just keeps on growing. :thumb

i had given them up in my first year of high school, not because i didn't like them anymore, but because i was afraid of my brothers ridicule. otherwise i most likely never would have stopped collecting them. i plan on making sure my nephew doesn't have that problem! :tflaugh

and if he does, i can always make some more room to add his tf's to my collection! :bounce

I got one of my best friends hooked. He's addicted to Simon Furman now, he loves War Within and the Ultimate Guide.

i somehow got myself hooked again, in the process of drawing my brother in to the comics, and my gf is gradually learning all about them as well. they haven't got the toys yet, but thats alright, they can get me some more!!!

I've gotten a few of my friends into TF's. i can be a really persuasive person. What I did was show them about 2 hours worth of the original series, and they thought it was great. After that, everytime I came over, I would pretty much see one or two with a new TF. Unfortunelty, no Generation one toys in their collection. Bummer, reissues don't cut it.

For me it was my 5-year-old son. His first exposure to Transformers was my VHS copy of TF:TM (I thought it might be a bit early to let him see Spike say "oh shit"...), which he thought was really cool. At about that time, RiD started appearing, and he was really excited that they were making real Transformers again (as was I -- no offense to BW/BM fans). He started watching the show (which was actually on NETWORK TV at that point), started buying the toys, and the rest is history. Now I buy him the Energon comics and read them to him -- cool stuff.
