I'd really like to know how you did that. My girlfriend thinks I'm bloody insane for liking TransFormers as much as I do.

I'm trying to get my fiancee converted to be a TransFan. Over the weekend she actually requested to start watching the TF cartoon series from Ep1. So we'll see how that goes :tflaugh

I got some lil dude at TRU hooked. He was looking at Power Rangers and he saw me looking at tfs. If some little kid sees a relatively cool looking big kid looking at something hes gonna want in on it.

"Hey, what are those?"

"They are robots who turn into cars"

"Sorta like power rangers then?"

"Nah, these are way better"

"Wow look a tank!"

"He's called Galvatron and he's a bad guy"

"Cool, it that his little friend in there?"

" Yeah, he turns into a gun and can make Galvatron do cool stuff"

"Wicked! MUM! look! could I have him"

"Sure"

 

The other day i saw him picking up a supercon prime.

She doesn't have to *like* Transformers, any more than you should have to like interior decorating or house plants or whatever. What you should aim for is getting her to appreciate you for who you are, and to respect the fact that the two of you like different things. My wife, for the life of her, can't understand what I see in these things. But she's supportive of my hobbies & interests, and is excited for me when I'm excited about something (most recently 20th Anniversary OP). I think that's a key difference.

 

And anyway, you don't want your significant other getting into Transformers -- you'd spend all your time fighting over who gets to play with them! :tftongue

It brings a tear to my eye to see all of you "spreading" the love. :tflaugh

My wife, *EDIT*. She still doesnt like the toys or the cartoons or the comics or anything like that except for maybe Tshirts but she is addicted to flirting...I mean chatting with the people on these Tf boards. She doesnt like going to the 2005boards though because noone will talk......err I mean flirt with her there.

That, and if you ever got a divorce / broke up, you'd have to sort out whose were whose!!! That one's mine! Nu uh... I bought it! But it was for MY birthday! *battle ensues* *primes arm falls off* *collectively "that one's yours!"*

I take offence to that sir. With a very broad remark you're basically saying that all tf boards are just uesd by "horney" guys looking to pounce on the first Woman TF collector they see. And btw, *EDIT* isn't a flirt as you say. I've been here since the boards opened, and here when she joined the boards, and guys have tried to flirt with her but not once have I noticed her flirting back. She's fun to talk Transformers with and that's it.

Back to the topic, I worked at a school for a couple of years.... I see a lot of the kids today even... 85% (Of the boys at least, some girls though) are at least up to date on TFs like which new ones are out and what looks the coolest. :D pretty cool

 

And LM, I grow houseplants.... :P lol that means my GF should be very tolerant of TFs.... except she doesn't like decorating or plants... blast it, another failed attempt to understand women
