I've finally gotten alt Prime

Recommended Posts

I only have Nemesis Prime. His joints are really loose, and articulation is barely there. I've pretty much kept him in one constant pose, not finding many that look good. He definately looks better in black. My 20th Prime remains the leader of my Autobot Alts.

^ agree'd. mine just stays like this. my only concern was that the front bumper could have been secured better... i know its designed to pop off with excessive force but mine is ridiculous. n the paint apps on the takara version are better ... but other than that im happy with my prime

I really hate it when Hasbro takes advantage of guillable people who buys anybody who buys something because of a likeness or a label of something. I think (I am going to hate myself for saying this) that Optimus Prime fans deserve something better.

Excuse me - I got to purify myself now.

Hm, let me see:

- loose joints,

- alt mode unrealistic due to the large empty space under the hood and the arms are clearly visible,

- simplistic transformation,

- different shades of color for different part,

- very little posability,

- inferior plastic (several parts you can almost see throough)

- construction flaws (the spring for the legs is too strong and will cause breakage)

- several design flaws (the spoiler is needed for him to stand, but this will cause the spoiler to wear and eventually break; the legs for some reason can only extend a little, while there's plenty of space for them to extent a full centimeter more than their current lenght; loose chest; knee should be (pseudo)ratchet joint and considering there are ridges in them, it would suggest that this was once considered; back heavy, etc...etc...etc...)

You know, when I first heard the rumor about the alt Dodge Ram I really was thinking and hoping that this was going to be Ironhide. But when I finally got him, I was so glad it wasn't.

Me too.

For those of you with loose joints -

Clear nail polish is my friend.

An intelligent application can change a crappy figure into a neat one.

thats how it worked for me and Alt-Prime.

My nemi - is pretty stable. but yeah - he looks infinitely better in black.

ive only got nemi but i sorta like him or maybe thats just down to the limited black repaint vibe hes got

...the spoiler is needed for him to stand, but this will cause the spoiler to wear and eventually break...

When I was TFing him for the first time, I felt like, and still do, that the spoiler are going to just snap in half.

To quote Agent J in MIB in regards to the Noisy Cricket given to him:

C'mon. I feel like I'm gonna break the d@mn thing

The loose joints, I too use clear nail polish.

I didn't get him because he's Optimus Prime (I'm not even calling him that since for me 20th Prime is in scale with the Alternators and therefore their leader), but because he's one of the few Alts that I wanted because I like the line so much.

My story

In my eyes, he's a Prime-like clone designed by Wheeljack named Ginrai which would in the case of the need for a temp body while his is being repaired, Prime's core consciousness can be stored in the Alt Prime body. But it's primary function is to aid the Autobots if needed. His engine is modified with it's own warp abilities so they don't have to wait for him to arrive at the battle when called (and he can be called by the following Autobots: Prime, Wheeljack, Prowl and Grimlock. Limited in intelligence, he is more like a drone that can make decisions depending on how it will aid in the mission assigned to it (yes, I'm drawing upon the Vol 1 of DW G1 for inspiration), and like Bruticus, will stop dead in his tracks awaiting more orders if done with current assignment. Grimlock frequently uses him in truck mode and uses him as a mobile turret so to speak. Grimlock gets on the truck bed and whips out his gun and fires while moving (that inspiration came from the episode that premiered the Spychangers in RiD where three of them ride the other three and are firing at the Preds (Mirage rides atop of Ironhide, who happens to be a pickup truck)).

When back at base, he is often used for housekeeping purposes like dusting and vacuuming since none of the other Autobots don't want to and he's too stupid to say no. He's also joked about greatly.

Prime feels a special attachment to Ginrai and hopes that when the war is over, Wheeljack can give him full intelligence and let him be a fully sentient being.

I found Alt. Op kind of meh, but I really liked the mold more once I got the Nemesis repaint.
