Alternators Hiatus

There are also like four or five Alternators that need one or two more repaints.

They could have at least finished out the Ark-bots... at least the 1984 ones

which means they should have done Ironhide, Ratchet and Trailbreaker. And the thing that kills me is that they could all have been easy repaints/remolds.

it means has blo drops the ball again!

These are also character people would look for. Who honestly cares about Rollbar or Ricochet? Seriously? Camshaft anyone? Swerve (at least he had a new head)? I can understand not wanting to dump all there big characters on us at once, but there had to be better choices for characters.

New heads should have been mandatory

Yes, I demand new head! ha ha ha

Totally...

That's why I asked if Alts was dead, cause they could totally finish out all the big-name/fan-favorites easily from 84, 85 with simple repaints/remolds.

If they do bring alts back hopefully they'll fix their distribution problems. I got tired of hunting for alts since you could never find the new one. It always felt like an impossible task.

They can never controll people's desires. You may walk into Walmart and go, "Rollbar and Rico, Ugh!" The the next guy comes in an says, "Yes! Honey these are the 2 I've been looking for! Ugh! Optimus Prime as a Dodge Ram?! I'm not buying that!"

Also, I believe that what was perceived as "distribution problems" was due more to them not selling particularly well - stores simply didn't order very many cases of Alts (perhaps even none of particular waves) to avoid sitting on a bunch of shelfwarmers. Hasbro can't distribute cases to stores that don't order them.

I like Camshaft but I could have easily taken a Red Scion Ironhide or White Rachet any day over Cammy.

I liked them when they started out but now with the Autobots out numbering the Decepticons like 3 or 4 to one it just is totally uneven. I actually have a 24" long trailer that I cut in half and hinged out so I could build 20th anni Prime a base totally full from front to back and side to side of Autobots only, as well as 4 Autobots V.S. 5 the Decepticons on the shelf above that and another like 3 or four on the bottom shelf. As CP said the Alts were great for G1 nostalgia in the begining but there are just so many more G1esque figure out there now. Not to meantion that the Classics figs don't take up nearly the amount of shelf space the Alts do nor do the cans. So I'm actually thinking of maybe selling the Alts I have off as it seems many others have began to do. If I don't then I may just car mode them and box them up until I get some more display space. Which could be as early as August since my wife want's to get a new house. So we'll be fixing this one up some, adding on and what not to try and up the selling price, and then having one built for us for about $200,000. In the mean time if they continue the Alts post movie then I might get them but for now I'm enjoying the Classics, and the cans for all their G1 goodness even if most of Classics is based off of the later part of G1. I.e. Optimus transformation based loosly on Power Master Optimus, BB based on Goldbug, Grimlock based on Pretender shell Grimlock
