20th prime... broken

Recommended Posts

this has been a disaster. first a leg joint came out and had to be glued in. Now the one on the otherside became stuck, tried to turn the leg (needs to be to get into truck mode) ans snap. the connector bit broke.

I got this from toys r us stor a couple of months ago (uk) so i dont think they will replace it. Now have any of you had any experiance in contacting hasbro? this shoddy trash needs to be replaced, because this is just not on at all.

Help anyone? cause thats £50 down the toilet.

I've not had any problems with the MP Prime I've got, but then I've got the Takara version. Sounds like the QA for Hasbro is doing it's usual excellent job of not doing their job right.

Sounds like you are out of luck. I bought my Masterpiece Optimus Prime from BBTS a while back. When his leg connector piece broke (it just did one day), I couldn't return it. So what I did was I went to TRU to get a 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and cannibalized that one to get the part. I then sold that guy. That's the only way I know of to repair it. Sorry I didn't keep it so you can get that piece.

IMHO, I think MPOP/20OP was too top heavy.

You're right there, MP Prime is a bit too top heavy. Die case metal is nice and all on TF's, but on MP Prime it runs a risk of making him far too heavy for his knees, which we all know are made of plastic.

Die cast is nice in bits and pieces on TF's, but not mostly in one place like with MP Prime and other TF's.

i feel like i'm going to break his legs when i pose mine, that is definately a weak spot

I haven't had a problem with mine (20th) and I've tf'd him many times.

Same here, but mine was from the original run way back when he was first released.

well i supose you could get a 2nd then put the broken one in the box and return it then sell on the MISB...

not a bad idea, but they scan barcodes.. heh.

anyway was talking with my farther over this (hes devious when it comes to getting shops to replace items heh)

so this is the plan: tell tru that since i am a collector (which i am) i leave some items in the boxes. So i left it in box for 3 months.... and decided that i would like to take it outs its box.... and then it broke on the leg. Not gonna mention the glue bit on the other leg, or else they wont take it back.

Goos strat eh? well we will see tomorrow afternoon. hehe. fingers crossed n all that.

I had to return something to Wal-Mart once... It wasn't a toy, and I don't remember the specifics (I don't even remember what it was to be honest), but I had it for a while and it broke. If I remember correctly I ended up having to paint it so it would look "new" again.

I say do what you gotta do, within reason. I don't have a problem with ripping off TRU, just don't try to pawn it off on another Transfan.
