Holy crabcakes!! I love MP3 but all these thread on the guy...sheesh!

This could have been posted in the "Question about Screamer" Thread.

Hold on

Note: It was determined at the time that the proto in question was most likely mistransformed somewhat. Note the placement of the wings. They appear to be placed higher on his back (which would be correct) in the "rear" shot, and lower in the "robot mode" image.

:tflaugh Wow...that looks kinda sh*tty

Blocky just like MP01

*cough* sucks doesn't it*cough*

No, I like it. It doesn't have those damn ball posts restricting upwards movement of the legs. If there was one essential area to posing of TF's it would be the legs, and MP-03 don' got it. This thing looks like it could hold a few really great poses.

Take his tail fins off. Instant pose inhancer. Just like the leg mod on Alt Prowl, you have a choice.

EDIT: nevermind-- my crotchplate was on tighter than a choirboy's yodel... I got it to loosen up though...

STILL, that was the first thing I did, but you can't get around the fact that those damn ball post block most of the movement. AND, if you take them off and put them on his calves (calfs?) they keep falling off.

There are/were pro's and con's to each mold. I've made my peace with the new mold, and concede that it is more detailed and probably better as a stand-alone figure, although I still don't like the paint scheme.

HOWEVER

The original had a blocky, man-in-suit aesthetic that not only made it closer to the SS we all saw in the show and movie, but closer to MP-01. The fact of the matter is, as good as MP-03 looks standing by his lonesome, he doesn't display that well with MP Prime or the Alts because he has a completely different "feel."

Every pic I've seen of him posed with other figures, especially Echophonic's alongside Prime and "Jetfire," looked awkward as hell. I still think the old one would have fit in a lot better.
