Well, I saw him today at TRU, and wow...not worth $90. The red is okay - more cartoony, but that white/pearl is just cheap looking, and the blue blaster looks like something that would come with a knockoff from Big Lots. He still has the same amount of die-cast, but meh...I got my MP-01 for only $10 more than this. This guy should only be $60 - $70 (what he originally cost when they released him the first time).

and although i understand what CP/LMH is saying - i disagree. Its not like Hasbro wasnt well aware of the Movie/DVD realease and the upcoming MP-Prime repaint... they could have planned it out better. and taken the clips from Sunbow or Rhino or whoever.

 

Also IMO -this version should have been an ALL PLASTIC one at no more than $50.

(and since its the DVD-EDITION -it could have included the DVD too -especially since it seems to be running $90)

Actually, when I first saw the original 20th OP on the shelf at Wal-Mart a child walked up behind me and said, in awe, "Wow, it's the original Optimus Prime! I always wanted one of those!" Kids aren't always as stupid as we give them credit for. As for the transformation, there are much more difficult Alternators.

 

Anyway, if there's anyone who still doesn't have 20th OP and feels the need to plop down almost $100 for this one, I think they should seriously consider ordering MP-04 for $20-30 more. I'm not a big fan of the trailer, but I'd take it over this "talking" base business any day.

I haven't seen MP-04 for $130 anywhere. Cheapest I've seen (Froogle) is $140 on eBay, one of the Hong Kong sellers that charge you like $80 for shipping.

 

Basically the absolute cheapest I've found is $175 and that's a full hundred more than 20th DVD Optimus

I could've sworn I saw him for $130 or $140, but I probably wasn't factoring in the insane-o shipping ebay lets people get away with. Still, I feel like this was at an online store...

 

Anyway, it's not a full hundred more when people are paying $90+tax at retail.

There have been posts in this thread about how TRU is overpricing him. HTS is selling him for $70, and that should be how much Target and Walmart would be selling him for.

After inspecting mine i noticed the pictures on his communicators have changed, instead of it being starscream and bumblebee, it is now grimlock and megatron. Im not sure if everyone knows this or not, it was just new to me. Does anyone know if the MP-04 changed to these characters on the communicaqtors?
