Am I too old to keep collecting transformers?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty much in a similar situation as you. I am 29, married and have 2 kids. I have no plans to stop collecting. Everyone should have a hobby they enjoy, and Tformer collecting happens to be (one of) mine. I have even gotten my oldest son (age 4) into Transformers figures. Enjoy your collecting and don't let anyone tell you that you are too old.

Of course you aren't. If it makes you happy keep buying em.

All you're doing is thinking about conforming to a sort of pressure impossed upon by society. The assumption by society as whole is that if you play with Toys, then you must be a kid.

By the same logic, if you own a gun, you would then enjoy shooting people.

Some people are intellectually lazy, and just make snap evaluations about people based on one small act.

I'm 10,so my advice might sound childish,I feel if it's what you do best or love, you should continue collecting.

Not childish at all.

I'm 29, married, with a 4 week old daughter. I don't think there is a cutoff age.

33, just bought four new ones at Wal-Mart today, and imagined each of the freed 'bots making "hurry up"-style comments as I struggled with the next one :nuts

(E-Demolishor, Arcee (NYAH-NYAH!) and Insecticon, plus Universe Sunstorm -- $20 was too much for Sunny, but $13 = SOLD!)

I don't think age should be a factor - if you enjoy it and it's not interfering with anything else in your life, then keep doing it :) I love collecting and I'll stop when I decide to, not because I'm too old

I'm 27 right now, gonna be 28 in a few months, with a steady girlfriend that I don't have the finances or the job to marry yet, and I just discovered a new love for Spychangers - wanna get them all.

My (unsolicited) advice to you is to first make sure that you do have a job that can support you and a future spouse. It's a tough transition going from being single to being married, and it's sometimes especially difficult to adjust to the new level of financial responsibility. In my opinion, discretionary income is all any of us with a family should be using to purchase TFs with. My wife and I struggled with credit card debt for years, and it just sucked.

Not that the Spychangers are going to put you under or anything; I'm just saying that it's important to make sure that your focus is in the right place. (If you haven't already, you may want to sit down with your girlfriend and have an honest talk about both of your financial priorities, just so you both understand each other that much better.)

Take it FWIW (and good luck to you in your job search).
