I'm gonna be honest, when ________Masters showed up, Transformers was dead to me in my mind. They drifted so far away from what made me fall in love with the series. Realistic vehicles with rubber tires and diecast. To me G1 ended during the Movie. So long story short, I'm not pressed to have any _________Masters return. Like some one else said, a 6 bot Devastator would rock though. If they ended the line with that, I'd be so happy.

Quoted for truth and agreement

Technically, the Minicons are Micromasters and PowerMasers. I say be happy with that.

As far as ______Masters are concerned

I voted Powermaster since I have the old PM Prime and he's always been a favorite of mine. Even though my son broke one of the wheels off and the one grey gun's handle off in the arm. Ahwell. Kids ya know.

Personally I'm not a fan of ANY gimmick that messes with the overall aesthetic or articulation of the toy. In both Armada and Energon the gimmicks f*cked up what could otherwise have been great figures (the Energon Cons were actually pretty cool, but many of the Bots were, IMO, ruined by the necessities of the combination feature). In Cybertron it's not so bad even if some of the key-activated features are kinda "WTF"-ish (Snarl's fangs for example), but overall I'm not a huge fan of gimmicks. I like the Classics we've seen so far mostly just the way they are. If you need to add more stuff to them, especially in the realm of ______ Masters, then I'd go with Targetmasters. From the last 3 series TM-type mini-cons that turn into weapons are the primary ones I collect and the only ones I really like. If Hasbro chose to make a mini-con or two that changed straight from a little articulated figure into a gun that would rock. Aside from that I'm kinda "meh" on gimmicks.

Unless they made Headmaster Arcee. THAT I would buy in a heartbeat, and it's the ONLY Headmaster I'd buy.

Hmm, I think I'm gonna have to say that, although it's not on the poll, combiners would be my first choice. Not like the energon combiners mind you, I mean combiners with 5 unique components, not repainted limbs. Saying that, I know we got 10 combiners in US G1 over 7 or so years, so I think they should stick to just the 3 ressurected in energon, namely superion, bruticus and devastator. (that being said would also like to see the preds and stunicons as individual bots)

Another gimmick which we've been deprived of in recent years is that of base-formers. We 'REALLY' need to have this aspect revisited - once unfolded into base mode the mini-cons and deluxes should be able to interract with them. The 5 base-formers are among the most popular from G1 and with 4 of them having names reused in the last few years I hope they may revisit them.

As for gimmicks actually on the list, I think the 'masters' have had their day. The concept of targetmasters would be nice ervisited to some extent, but I think the others were rather duff concepts to begin with. Pretenders on the other hand could use a drastic rehash, with a focus more on them being battle-armour than disguises. (kinda like in stormbringer) Now that would be a great concept, escpecially if the bludgeon and thunderwing designs from stormbringer crossover like jetfire did.
