Recommended Posts

Did I miss something? I've seen the Alternator version, but where is the Binaltech version of Mirage?

3) your avatar, MP SS, having mold changes and drastic coloration issues.

Yes, you missed out on the last few months where TakaraTomy screwed the collectors royally.

1) No new BTs

2) KISS which is hugely expensive and w/ Prime at least, doesn't even have die-cast, and of course

3) your avatar, MP SS, having mold changes and drastic coloration issues.

The reports whether the KISS toys are die-cast or not are still up in the air. There are reports that it is plastic, but there are also reports that the plastic was only used on the ones being exhibited and the toys will be die-cast.

...

I'm starting to think that it's not true.

But even if Convoy has some die-cast, the KISS Hot Rod definitely won't - he's listing for a price of 3500 yen (I forget the exact numbers, but the BTs listed around 4500-5000 yen and the BTAs listed for 6000-6500).

That's interesting b/c BBTS has him listed for $65 + shipping. That is $15 more than what I used to pay for my BTs. What a rip off for a plastic TF w/ a crappy little pvc figurine.

I am interested to see if Prime will have discast or not, but I bet that TT decided not to invest the $ into developing seperate molds for die-cast for a figure that they don't think will sell very well in Japan. But as you say godsenddeath, time will tell.

As far as I know, the retail price in Japan will be 6500 yen, putting it in the same league as the BTAs.  In fact, that's 1000 yen more than the BTAs, going by HLJ's prices (which are generally ordinary retail).  I'd be highly surprised (and disappointed) if it didn't have die-cast.

Not that you're bitter about it or anything...

:tflaugh

I just checked my preorders on BBTS, and the BT Convoy is gone. He is no longer listed under the TF Preorders. :(

:tflaugh Nope not at all.  :tflaugh (I want my BTs back and my MP SS original proto, whaaaaa!!!!)

Oh and I would kill for a BT Mirage. Just imagine that badass looking GT in diecast.  :drool

Too many people cancelled it I suppose. I for one cancelled it the minute I heard (yes, it is still unsure) that it would be all plastic. The mold just isn't worth the $$ I don't think, plus it was going to be drastically more than every other BTs they sold.

I kind of figured that the BT Convoy was going to be cancelled, I was surprised to see it as late as yesterday that it was still up for preorder. Seeing as how the Alternator versions were making it out before the BT's ever did, I guess I'm not surprised.

sorry guys-- that was me. :roll

I wrote Joel yesterday after noticing it was still up and asked if it was both available and to be produced in diecast.

He wrote back saying that he had forgotten it was up and "thanks for reminding me."

He didn't answer my second question though.... Powerglide.

Well, it was worth a try. I gotta admit though, I am kinda curious to see if they screw everyone w/ a plastic Prime or actually go die-cast.
