WHICH IS NOW FINALIZED ALREADY KTHX

does this mean the wing things usually on his feet that are now jetting from his waist, is not optional? i thought there was one pic showing that they could lay from his waist backward or you could still attatch them to the feet for the classic look. am i wrong?

that would be the two different protos. The tail fins aren't attached to his feet anymore but to that long section that comes out from his hips. However, that can be folded up behind his back so that it doesn't stick out a la RiD Prowl or Alt Tracks.

while i did think that the fins to the side was pretty cool looking, im a lil bummed realizing i dont have the option anymore. thx for the info though.

There's a big difference between something from your childhood getting tampered with

It was improved.

The old ones are available still on video and laserdisc.

They didn't destroy your copies, they didn't "tamper" with your childhood, they just added stuff to make it better and left you with your nostalgia.

It's just a film.

Get over it.

I'm sorry, but that IS how some see it. Star Wars fan's whining grates with some people as much as, if not more than this grates on you because to them, you're whining over childish insignificant things.

Of course, not me, I actually prefer the original trilogy too, I'm just illustrating the fact (using the opinion of several friends) that what is significant or justified to one person isn't to another, and that we all seem like spoilt brats who need to move on to someone else.

On top of that, G1 Starscream is a character from a show I watched in my childhood and passing something different off as that character is "something from your childhood getting tampered with".

Anyway, the point I actually intended to make is that fandom's do not move on.

Star Wars fans Starscreaming about their crap, Stars Trek fans doing similar, and in Transformers fandom, you still can't mention Beast Machines without debate, fans keep making kitbsahses that resemble old characters, we get one evil Optimus in one continuity, and fans are pining for every prime since to be repainted as him.

And I could run for hours with examples.

Bottom line is that some of you have just been given the best transformer you have ever seen.

Some of us have just been shown and denied the greatest transformer we've ever seen.

We're as unhappy and disappointed as you are excited and both groups are likely to keep their feelings on this strongly for a while.

Be annoyed by that all you want, but it's the way these things always go.

It's the nature of the fandom.

Star Wars fans bitching about their crap, Stars Trek fans doing similar, and in Transformers fandom, you still can't mention Beast Machines without debate, fans keep making kitbsahses that resemble old characters, we get one evil Optimus in one continuity, and fans are pining for every prime since to be repainted as him.

I like the way you absolve yourself of any personal responsibility. :thumb

Seriously though, the issue is unlikely to go away (though I may on this when I get bored).

First people will Starscream some more then it gets released, a little more Starscreaming, then we get the first kitbash, then it starts up again, perhaps stronger if the kitbash looks good enough...

As of that quote, I was talking about the fandom, not myself.

As far as me personally goes, I talk about stuff I feel is relevant.

And in my opinion, it is still a relevant issue, and I make no apologies for that.

But like I said, I'll get bored of discussing it, I'll buy and bash my own into the original and aside form images posted, that'll be it.

But I will stop talking when I think it's relevant, not you.

If you think that's too long, good for you.

I you think it's not that big a deal and you would move on, I'm sure you'd live by that.

If however, you are judging me by how you think I should act, you can go to hell.

I live by my own values and not to please others.

By now, I feel compeled to repost what I had posted before:

I now know why I and Joshlowe can't agree (and probably never will): Whatever the TF line, I have always considered a good TF is a TF with a good looking Alt mode (that's why I hate most of the Energon line and am not psyched by Metroplex). The bot mode has to be a well proportionate adaptation of the vehicule mode, that's all.

The new MP3 has several alteration. From an esthetic point of view, I consider it even give him a better look, even if it made him effectively a litle less G1 accurate. Nevertheless , the new mold still scream G1, and whoever will see a pic of it will say, "This is G1 Starscream". No one can deny that.

When I think about it, if 20th Optimus Prime had received some cool looking addition that would have made his truck mode look better, even if it means he would have not looked perfectly G1 accurate  (I insist it should have to look cool in bot mode), I think I would have considered him even better.

That's where my opinion and the one of Joshlowe diverge. He consider the respect of the character as a more important point. For him, MP is about the character, for me, it's about the sheer of details and the look and respect of the both modes. From there, I can undestand why he is not pleased.

To make it short, The argument will never end simply because our personnal tastes differ too much in what we like in a Transformers. And no mater how well elaborated an argument will be, it wil hardly change the taste of someone else, it's something to much subjective.

By the way, the pic you see is photoshoped. As a mater of fact, I would have prefered it that way. But I'm still getting it.
