Recommended Posts

perhaps i should have stated, even though it really bothers me hes not in his g1 scheme, i still fully intend on buying him. the mold is good enough to buy if he was pink and purple.

all i was saying was, idealy, i would have liked to see him in the g1 scheme.

Honestly?

I don't friggin care. Seriously. Every one of my posts has been my honest opinion

Except for the ones where you were needling people about theirs.  It's not the first time, and it won't be the last.

Why would I be any less sincere in those cases? But you know best... after all, you've read my posts on the INTERNET, so that clearly makes you my best friend who knows everything about me.

That aside, if you think a gray monochromatic color scheme is a "drop in the bucket" regarding realism, well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

Honestly?

So you sincerely feel that everyone whose opinion differs from yours is an idiot? :P (unnecessary sarcasm inserted)

The striping and the faction symbols kinda kill any realism they were shooting for.  And yes, that is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.

BTW, this all felt strangely familiar... then it hit me.  I did some digging, and came up with one of my first posts here on TFans:

Funny how nothing changes... I dunno whether to roll :rofl or roll :roll

Give me some time to think about that one.

^ Overcomplicated garbage.

v Simple truth

MP =/= G1

Wow, now you've made you point in bold coloured it text, it carries so much more weight. :roll :P

Except I'm not saying that Masterpiece Starscream is G1 because he's from the Masterpiece line.

I said that Masterpiece Prime IS G1 Prime because his official Takara booklet says so.

He is not the G1 toy, but he is a toy of the character from the show we call G1.

That is not an overcomplification, even children can differentiate between the two.

I also said that all the initial imagery and information sold the Masterpiece Starscream as the same thing.

I finally said that, until the release of the figure and the information in the booklet we can not say with certainty that this is or isn't supposed to be G1 Starscream.

If it is, we're being misslead as the figure is NOT G1.

If it isn't, it's not an issue, but those of us who were sold on the G1 Masterpiece Starscream still want our figure.

The toy of the character we call G1 Megatron had a LOT of chrome on it....

The cartoon version of the character we call G1 Megatron had NO chrome on it....

And yet no one is flooding the boards about that, are they???

Those of you who want a Starscream in G1 colors can repaint this Starscream (and yes, he is a Starscream) can repaint him in those colors. It'd be cool to see this mold in those colors for nostalgia's sake.

And who the flip cares about official Takara booklets ???

I agree. There is a lot removed from the overall realism of this mold by the stripes/insignia. Too many directions at once IMO. Is Takomy seriously trying to attract miniture collectors with this now? Though the alt mold is nicely done, and detailed beyond belief it is still at heart a transformer and should have a target audience as such. Why would somebody who collects similar scale models invest in a Transformer "pretending" to be high end scale model opposed to a real more elaborately detailed and expensive model. Don't get me wrong this mold is by far the most detailed/elaborate ever attempted but I'm pretty sure it falls short of a lot of the dicast minitures out there.

Another thing I don't get. This is a transformer not a model. I can see how a miniture figure is a nice addition but what the hell is a collector to do with crown, and other fanwank accessories. Models/transformers imo are two very different things with opposing collectors. Then again this is sure to appeal to the Gundum collecting crowd.

The point of this all I guess is why take a product that is purely fanwank achieved and then turn around and go out of your way to sell it to an entirely seperate market? The same could be said for the direction the BTs have been taken in the past year. Are Transformers really doing so poorly that whole new markets need to be explored to sell anything.

Just my immediate thoughts, and nothing more.

Go figure. One of the most exciting times in the Transformers fandom and everyone's arguing with each other like grade schoolers. Just because we all collect toys doesn't mean like we have to act like the kids that would choose to play with them.

Every one here isn't over 15 yrs old

Most of the people acting like babies are, FWIW. :tfevil

in that case, proceed. with the new pics, I do have to say SS is really a MP.

but yeah, the detail is astonishing. waaaaaay beyond anything in Alts/BTs.

Maybe I'm the only TF fan who's also into military jets, but I can't find a single thing wrong with this figure. There's something for everybody to love, that is if you're open to it and not blinded by "this isn't what I wanted". I love the Sidewinder missiles also BTW... I wonder if they can fit on his arms
