MP Starscream color comfirmed

Go figure. One of the most exciting times in the Transformers fandom and everyone's arguing with each other like grade schoolers. Just because we all collect toys doesn't mean like we have to act like the kids that would choose to play with them.

i think another problem is that we need to define what 'masterpiece' means. obviously its not an exact representation of a licenced vehicle *like the alts/bt* but it closely resembles one. look at mp01, its missing 2 sets of wheels in the rear, it doesn't have a real cab, no interior, no steeringwheel with autobot symbol... but everybody accepts it as prime. masterpiece figures to me are just fully articulated versions of our beloved g1 figs and nothing more. sure they have realistic features that we can clearly distingush the original vehicle/character... as for the paintscheme on the latest masterpiece fig, everyone is arguing over which duck it looks like. wait for official photos and everything is settled.

this reminds me alot of which alt the scion was going to be... people argued that it would be ironhide, perceptor, and skids. who knew it would also be broadcast!

anything is possible with this next masterpiece. im not surprised if they come out with a masterpiece skywarp!

Honestly?

I don't friggin care. Seriously. Every one of my posts has been my honest opinion

Except for the ones where you were needling people about theirs.  It's not the first time, and it won't be the last.

I don't really care anyway. The reason I didn't answer you before is b/c I didn't get the impression that anything I said would change your mind.

Why should you be trying to change my mind?  Why should changing my mind even enter into it?  As you pointed out below, not everything's black and white.  I asked what was so realistic about it to anyone who felt that way, not to pick a fight, but because I DIDN'T GET IT.  It doesn't look more or less realistic to me, just unrealistic in a different way.  So I asked about it, hoping to get a different perspective.  I put mine in plain view, but apparently nobody read it.  Maybe I should stick to snappy one-liners from now on.

oops I hope I'm not agitating again, that'd be sucky.

I'd insert a snappy one-liner here, except I'd just be repeating myself.

Anyway, I'm not Takara's company representative; why ask me stuff that I don't know the answers to? Or more to the point, why use me as the target of your Takara angst and frustration just because I don't care what color Starscream is? I didn't build the f*cking thing.

Who's being dramatic now?  Like I said, I put my inquiry out for anyone who liked the new colors for their supposed realism.  Coincidentally, from that point forward it seemed like the majority of the posts were "OMG SFTU G1 fanboy lol," so that left you.  You had been the most vocal about the realism angle anyways... even so, I didn't direct anything at you specifically until you went back to the topic. And all that got me was a smartass remark about how I'm blind.

But the problem with this whole discussion is that people don't seem to be able to discuss this figure in terms other than black or white, yes or no. Either it's G1 or it's not. Either it's realistic or it's not. etc etc etc.

That's not my problem.  It's not G1.  It's not realistic.  That's fine.  Once again, people had been justifying the mishmash we got as "realistic" and reason enough for the supposed change.  I was trying to understand a perspective that I couldn't see myself.  You're right, I wasn't planning on changing my opinion, but why should that stop me from trying to understand someone else's?

which is why it gives me Outback hives when people start parsing comments like "a gray color scheme is more realistic than red, white and blue".

It's like saying removing a sticker that says "Megatron Rules" makes a toy more realistic.  It's true, but... does it really matter?  It's a drop in the bucket.

I mean, how is that not obviously true? Could it have been more realistic than that? Yes, of course. Jeebus, do you think I'm unwaware of that? Do you think I missed the con symbols and the stripes? Do you think I don't know that military jets are usually light flat gray? I never ever said "OMG IT'S TOTALLY REALISTIC AND NOBODY WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO TELL IT'S A TRANSFORMER".

Your little story about how you always felt the G1 jets were disappointing, in the same breath as MP3 making up for that in a way, left a gaping logic hole (conveniently filled in above with some bonus sarcasm to boot).  So I asked a question knowing full well that you weren't an idiot, and that there had to be something more to it.  A lot of good that did me, eh?  But it did give me something to do on an otherwise boring Sunday night.  So thanks.  (I think.)

So I don't know what your issue is.

I asked a simple question and got Blot on for my effort.  Good enough?

It does make one wonder...  Non G1-fanboys  wont care what color it is yet G1 fanboys would want it show accurate... so why do they go out of their way to do it in a controversial color scheme

I mean with what it must cost to produce why would you want to chance alienating part of the fanbase

I for one will most likely get it though I do in fact wish he was more like my childhood favorite.
