Okay, excuse my language but THIS is REALLY PowerglideED UP.  I just called, talked to "Charles".  He told me that if I placed my order over the phone I am "Guaranteed" to recieve my order.  I asked him why I hadn't recieved a confirmation email and he said there may not be any sent.

Now get this:

He said I should expect it to take three weeks to recieve my NPs.  Not only that, but when I asked him if he could at least check for my order and confirm over the phone he said it was not in their system--and may never show up in their computer system because the whole thing is being bypassed and the orders are being fulfilled/shipped manually.  He said I may actually have my stuff before it ever gets into their computer, if at all.

I pressed the issue a bit, informed him there's a rather large community that wanted these things and that we all compare notes on the different stories we've all been told.  He got a bit huffy, and reiterated that if an order was placed over the phone it was guaranteed to be filled and shipped.  I didn't ask about the website orders.

Now I'm not sure exactly what this means.  Maybe he wanted me to just go away.  But in three weeks I guess we'll see.

My guess on this whole thing is, somehow-some way-someone in Hasbro's distribution network screwed up royally, and NP got short-shipped.  They ran out too fast at SDCC, faster than expected.  And, I'm betting, judging from how fast they went at the Con they realized just how screwed they were.  The high traffic at the site made things bad, crashing the whole thing--he did mention ALL SDCC exclusives were having the same issues--and then having some, but not all, of their CS reps taking orders by phone made it worse, because they really didn't know if they could fill them or not.  Hence, three weeks' expected processing/shipping for the orders, which for HTS has usually taken only a week at most for me.  They're prolly scrambling to get more from overseas.  Maybe they weren't planning on filling ANY orders.  Maybe someone said the magic "L" word-Lawsuit--to the right CS rep or supervisor.  Who knows, maybe after this debacle they'll try again to put it on the site.  But as I said above, I'll know more in three weeks if my NPs come in.  If not there'll be Hell to pay--especially if my credit card statement shows the charges.

Well okay, but my friend is still on my Blot list if this doesn't come in... because he says the money was taken out of his account for two NP's.. mine and his.

you know it would not suprise me that bbts bought the toys and then put the mark up on them knowing that they were going to make a huge amout of loot on it

now the question is for such an exclusive toy why is it so much easyer to get one from another store?

What ways could BBTS have gotten Nem Prime?

1) bought from a seller in Asia, where it's a retail release.

2) bought from SDCC

3) bought from a domestic online source.

When you factor in potential costs such as shipping from Asia, shipping from a domestic source, or the cost of going to SDCC, the profit isn't that outrageous.

Joel could've charged $60 for it, and it would still have sold out.

man, i'd like to be a fly on the wall during the board meeting about this

Ha, it will be a 10 second conversation during a smoking break.

lol, i'm sure that 10sec conversation turned into one hell of a headache for cs employees

It's not BigBadCharityStore either, they do have a business.

i'm betting they got 'em from sdcc or bulk from asia, probably the latter, and either way wouldn't have been that cheap.  theres no way they could offer them @ $25 like hasbro did.  if it was too high they wouldn't have sold out that fast imo

:pfx x1000 and some could technically say that Hasbro still never offered them NP @ the $25 price anyway.

I for one thought BBTS's price was reasonable for an EXCLUSIVE - let's not forget that it's still an exclusive people, and had it never been made "available" through HTS or TCC that all of us that are crying "ZOMG SCALPER, SCALPER!!" would be saying how good a deal the BBTS price is.

Besides, I'd rather shell my money out to someone I can trust and not some faceless entity in Asia.

meh, thats about what they're going for on ebay

True, (and this next part is not directed at you Buddykiller) and let's not forget that the average LOWEST Ebay BIN Price for this guy is somewhere between $30 - $50, not including the $25 - $40 shipping some of these guys are charging.

I paid $51.68 total for him - do the math, and then factor in the added security of Joel's excellent customer service (i.e. HE DOESN'T SCREW YOU OVER) and the simplicity of buying from his store.

So yeah, let's cut it out with the whole "ZOMG BBTS IZ TEH SKALPORZZZ" bullBlot KTHX

I got mine off ebay a week or two weeks ago. It wasn't from over seas, so I would have to wait till the Con was over before it was shipped. I paid 50 dollars with shipping..which is what BBTS was selling for with the shipping. So, I guess 50 dollars isn't too bad.

mine came from overseas on eBay $50 shipped.  I would be so pissed if I was waiting a couple weeks for the day to order it and this Blot happened.
