Not sure if I agree with that statement (since selling toys is what they do and all), but there's no denying that Hasbro unloaded a perfect situation for scalpers: exclusive toy that everyone wants, provide alternate means of purchase, give everyone false sense of security, then pull the rug out.

Yet another "official" story.

 

edit: just noticed the phone number.  That's the Consumer Affairs line.  They know LOTS over there. :roll

I just bit the bullet and ordered it from BBTS. Too much money for a farkin alt, but I wanted it badly enough so it was worth it to me.

 

So there it is.

Well, they way they handled the situation (with Alt Nemesis Prime) sucks. It all started when they made him an exclusive, then they tried to make it okay by offering it on HTS (which was the only good thing they did), but then they fell through with that on the day it was supposed to be available. They announced the time and date of the availability (good intention, but very bad in retrospect), and then tried to release the exlusive on their website at the same time as 2 Star Wars exclusives. Then when the website went down, and the smart people called the 800 number to find out what was going on and actually ordered it that way, by the time this information got out they started turning people away. Then no one at Hasbro's C/S knew what exactly was going on, and that only exascerbated the situation. And now, apparently, they didn't have ANY stock to sell! :tdown

 

It's just a bad situation that started going downhill... and it still hasn't stopped. :roll

damn i bet they're getting alot of calls over this, i'm on hold right now... i wanna know if i'm going to have that $35 (or whatever it'll be with shipping) charged to my card or not so i can maybe get something else if i'm not gonna be getting this....

called hts.. the lady said she don't know anything about what happened thursday and took my phone number and handed it off to her supervisor... man this blows
