Meister, Autobot Jazz? WTF?

Recommended Posts

I might have missed something since I don`t hang out here religiously, but why was it that in the Alternators line they called Jazz, "Meister", but with the 3" Titaniums they can call him "Autobot Jazz"? Just wondering since I`m too damn lazy right now to search. :)

I don't know that they've explained why.

I would guess it could be a response to the backlash for naming the alt 'meister', or to try and grab a few more new collectors off of nostalgia for the name.

from what I can tell, the Alt Titanium figs represent the actual G1 characters. Regardless of what they look like. Go fig, huh?!

More or less, it's just Hasbro throwing collectors a bone. Titanium is a straigt up and down collectors line whether it's titled that or not.

The 3" Titanium which is Jazz is indeed the Alt version of him which is named Meister. :wtf

My head's about to explode! :nuts

I was pissed when I finally read their bios. I just knew they'd mention them being alts and why Jazz has Reprolabels.

I`m not too thrilled with the paint apps. They look like badly painted Ral Partha D&D figures. Too glossy. :tdown

The main reason for this change actually involved Mazda. There is a car (or motorcycle---can't remember) called a Jazz. This is the reason that they have to say Autobot Jazz. Mazda on the other hand wanted absoluteley nothing to do with another company's car name put on their product, and rightfully so.

Elrod is right. :)

:pfx The Honda Jazz was recently brought over to the US as the Fit.
