A disturbing new trend

Recommended Posts

Cybertron has been my worse series ever. I have every single show character minus Wingsaber, and the Giant guys. If that's not bad, I never buy repaints. Now I own, Excellion, Swindle, Skywarp, Swerve and Galvatron

i can't say that I collect like that.  I more or less buy the ones I think are cool, and pass on who I don't like.

Not to totally jack the thread, but SoundwaveStephen/SIDEWYS, I wish everyone put something like that in their sig when they change names. I had to check the Top 10 posters page to make sure HotRod changed his name. Very useful.

Anyway, I already gave my opinion on this topic, but FYI, I am bidding on yet another G1 Warpath right now, so what does that say???

..that you have a serious thing for Warpath :tftongue  j/k

Mazinkaiser, if you can afford it, I don't see anything wrong with collecting doubles.... :thumb  I think I only have a double (TRU reissue Grapple if I'm not mistaken)

Okay guys... from G1 all the way through Energon it's always been a completist trend for me - even sometimes buying the molds I don't really care for just so I can own them all -  :redface - but now I am noticing something new in my collecting...

Since Cybertron came out, I have bought DOUBLES of certain figs, (Crosswise, Sideways, Cybertron Defense Scattorshot) after they go on clearance, just so I can have one on the shelf with the rest of the collection and one to knock around with and make cool poses and stuff.

Does anyone else do this?

That is a disturbing trend. However, you can easily cure this problem by gving me 1/2 of your Toy money every month.  :thumb

Now that sounds like a logical solution

I just love those little tanks, they are so cool.

Nope, I'm poor.

No way... that'd be hella expensive. I know of a fan who collects in triplicate - not dropping any names, but from what I've heard, this guy basically has no life outside of Transformers and other forms of geekdom. :P

I usually only buy one, unles I'm absolutely daffy about the mold.  I bought red and blue Excellions, and I have about a half dozen of the BM Jetstorm mold (all but the orange one, Jhiaxus).  I also have two Crosswise, and I have a Cybertron Megs and one Galvatron, just because I like him so much better with the Galvatron colors.

I mostly just buy the cool molds, and I avoid buying ones I don't like quite a bit, which takes some self-control when I'm out hunting.  I don't know how many times I've carried Defense Red alert to the checkout stand, and then took it back to the shelf (or not) and left the store empty-handed because my better judgement snuck up on me.
