Okay, first they Starscream about TFCC not doing anything cool/worth it to join. Then get this... they start Starscreaming that the Classics line(AKA Transformers: STFU) preview images are for members only :roll (which will probably start a series of things to Starscream about that're members-only).

I for one fail to see the logic here. Granted, most of the images are public now, but the trend continued with Neo Bumblebee. So what gives? Is it just an excuse to Starscream about something? Prejudice aginst Hasbro?? Or did something crawl up their collective asses and die???

I think Hasbro expects too much from the fandom. They see how us collectors will drop a huge amount of money on toys, but in reality, a small percentage of the fandom actually does this. They must see it as a stereotype, and as a result, their club and convention is aimed at the high-end dream, leaving most of the fandom not willing to pay that price.

I personally think the withholding of images for premium content is a massively stupid thing.. The molds and unique stuff that costs a premium is fine. But early release pics? Yeah.. that just isn't right.

I mean, what legal recourse do they have? You -OWN- the magazine -- mags and books fall under different rules than, say, software. If you scan in a picture, and properly credit it, it falls under the terms of fair use (scanning in whole articles is a different matter entirely). It just... grr. It bugs me.

i'm not surprised that Hasbro feels that why since there are plenty of examples of people spending a sh*tload of money for random tf crap on e-bay.

ok, the cheapest route is $40 a year...

for that you get 12 issues of classified ads, 6 "newsletters", and a repainted toy... hmm oh yea you can also buy stuff from the store at *gasp* retail price.

so.... if all that isn't worth joining, 6 jpgs certainly isn't worth it either.

it's all fine and dandy if you got 40 a month to blow and your into that kinda thing, but for me to pay $40 a month, it's gonna take alot more stuff.  i mean yay they're trying, give 'em a cookie, but it's just not worth it imo

p.s.  attempting to keep digital images of toys (esp highly anticipated toys) exclusive on the internet is just retarded imo.  i also see that this even has pointed out a security flaw and they've fixed it... they should be greatfull  :tflaugh

p.p.s. exclusivity blows

you can please some people, some of the time. but you can't please all the people all the time. or something like that...i'm not big on sayings

Okay, the first quote and the second quote are what I'm talking about. If it's not worth it, then STFU about the exclusive pics. If you don't shell out the $40 a year, you shouldn't see the exclusive pics.

I mean if it's not worth it, why be complaining, right? :tfgrin

never complained ^_^  just when they bugged tman to take bb off his sig, but i did distribut the pics, and did it gladly ^_^

Oh, okay. Though I wasn't specifically refering to you. I was merely pointing out what I originally meant. Misunderstanding cleared up :thumb

So long as you credit the various sources of the infomation, I see no problem with distribution of images and articles online.

Its if you take said club magazine and reproduce it and sell it, then there would be good grounds for ppl to be upset. And legal action.

All I see from these leaked images is how cool they are going to be sitting in my collection
