Kitbash idea/suggestion

Recommended Posts

I am not in the business of kitbashing but I had an idea, or question that maybe might give you guys some ideas. Now this concerns the Master Grade Gundam kits... I may have the wrong name, but the highly detailed ones that are kinda expensive. Do you think those would be a source of extra material to further mod MP OP or even Starscream when he comes out? I still remember seeing the hands on those kits and they are insane... Probably would work better with Starscream but they also may be too expensive to use for kitbash materials...

Actually, Master Grade Gundams are only in 1/100 scale, and are generally about 20cm (8 inches) tall.  Far too small for MP Prime or Starscream.

Perfect Grade Gundams may be better, since they come in 1/60 scale and stand at around at 30cm (12 inches) at the head.

Now you never told me that there are perfect grade gundam model kits :tftongue

Perfect grade kits are downright outrageous - an entire interior skeleton, every possible hatch opening (like ammo ports for the head autocannons, etc), and every possible joint articulated. They're like Masterpiece figures, but even more so.

And actually, Perfect Grade model kits of the Z and ZZ era might be large enough - the ZZ gundam, for example, is 22.1 meters tall. 22.1 centimeters is about 9 inches tall, and from what has been bandied about concerning the size of MP Starscream, that's supposedly about how tall he's going to be.

Yes I did, but there wasn't any PG kit in any of the Gundams you mentioned, hence I didn't see a need to continue on with the PG references.

Yep I meant Perfect Grade.

And there are oversized Gobot model kits. Also on ebay you can find Dorvack model kits for various characters, including Mugen Calibur (Roadbuster).
