Megatron's incarnations....

Recommended Posts

When you usually see a new Transformer line, it's usually a given that of all the characters, Optimus Prime will keep certain characteristics from generation to generation (I.E. color scheme of red/blue, some vague form of a truck, blue head w/ faceplate, and at times, includes the matrix). The point is, when you see Prime, you know it's prime.

Megatron, on the other hand, has varied quite a bit. I can't help but feel disapointed when I see new incarnations of the decepticon leader, as he doesn't seem to carry much over (he's a gun! no, wait! let's make him a tank!, Orrrrrr howzabout a race car/airplainy-thingy!) I personally like the original's grey color scheme (I mean look at all the garish color combo's he's been lately! He's more colorful than the hero character!), his helmet, and most of all, his BIG F#@$%G ARM CANNON! that just takes his bad-assed-ness a step up. agree?

I really don't care what alt mode he is anymore, as long as it's war-mongering (not a race car), but I feel Megs could use a standard characteristic guide as well. Is there anything the rest of you out there feel Megatron should retain each time he is re-designed for a new line?

I want a BIG F#@$%G ARM CANNON too!

Race cars can be war machines, though.

That's the good thing about Megatron. With Megatron, you can play with new ideas and concept, while Optimus Prime stays old and stale.

Have you seen the new Redux Megs. If you havent, go to the news forum and rejoice! He a gun and has a big arm cannon. Yay.

Ummmmmmm...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...uhhhhhhhh.....A SEMI?

Lets take a look at the constants within all the changes of Megs.

G1--Alt mode: Pistol      Trademarks: Arm cannon, hip cannon, Helmet

G2--Alt mode: Tank      Trademarks: Shoulder Cannon, helmet

Machine Wars--Alt mode: Jet  Trademarks: Helmet

Beast Wars: Alt Mode: Alligator  Trademarks: Hand gun, helmet

Beast Wars: Alt Mode: T-Rex  Trademarks: Arm Cannon, Helmet

..........the list goes on

so i'm seeing that they try for a cannon of some sort and his helmet face.

BUT IT'S NOT EXACTLY LIKE SOME CARTOON THAT WAS ON TV 20 YEARS AGO!!!1!!11!

Ummmmmmm...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...uhhhhhhhh.....A SEMI?

Over on the Alternators side of things, he becomes a HEMI :P

HA!

Wrong! He's Viper powered. Not HEMI. He has as many Viper marks than Sideswipe.
