Alternators Rumble Pics

Though I won't go as far this time as to blatently put it across as I'm right/you're wrong I'll just say the toon definitly holds a stronger argument for who's who and why. First off yes the cartoon was a lameass 20 some minute comercial that aged horribly. It did however introduce a lot of these toys as actual characters with names and personalities that are still going strong today.

I don't think the show holds a stronger argument, I'd say it holds an equal argument with the comic and the characters that are still going strong today are, for the most part, as much comic as they are show.

In the UK, the show got poor exposure, the comic was the thing that introduced so many to the characters, the comic was the one who built them into the characters we know and love today, and the show as the more obscure thing.

I mean, I've known show fans say how much characters like Doctor Arkeville and Chip Chase should be in the movie as they're such a strong part of the Transformers mythos, yet Chip Chase was little more than a vague memory and Doctor Arkeville I thought was GI Joe prior to buying the DVD's again.

And I'm not the only one, so it can't have been that influential.

Same can be said for the comic too, I know, and thats' what I'm saying, 50-50 in influence.

The toys do have resissues that play on G1 concepts, like female transformers, yet they also have a god like Primus that transforms into Cybertron, something that was a comic only thing in G1.

And you can keep making similar comparisons.

If we remove the toy as a factor, I think there's still a 50/50 "claim" on whether this figure is Rumble or Frenzy.

It's not clearly one or the other, which is why I think people should just let the official toy serve as what it "should" be labelled instead of whining.

There is one thing I will ask anyone who can be bothered to answer though.

The G1 comic coloured Hot Rod and Soundwave as varying shades of purple for the most part, yet I, and most comic fans I know of, are not tied to that as though it were religion, it's not a big deal. It was done for technical reasons, like Rumble/Frenzy and so it's just ignored even though we grew up with it.

So why, aside from Madhammer, do those who grew up with the cartoon hold onto these trivial things so much and make them big issues?

I wonder if they'll make a version with a blue body and call it frenzy XD

But wait... Rumble's the blue one...

:: hides under desk as flamewar breaks out ::

Just call him Rumzy or Fremble

C'Mon... you know the official name is "Deceptivic"...

If I recall correctly, Frenzy didn't appear in the cartoon at all until "Countdown to Extinction" (that would be episode #14 out of a 16-episode season), whereas Rumble was in practically every episode from the beginning. I dunno why that's significant but I was thinking about it.

BTW Frenzy (the toy) looks a lot cooler than Rumble on the show. blue > lavender

BTW #2: I wish they had given Frenzy his tech spec ability and not just made him a Rumble clone.

The writers were two lazy for that. If they had any difference, Frenzy seemed to be less talk more action. I one of the episodes, I laughed my ass off when Frenzy saw a human (cant remember which one off hand) and with out saying anything, blam! He took a shoot at em. Rumble would always say something to make himself sound incompetent.

Just to put the concept art with the toy...very different...and its still a HONDA???

Enough already!  Honda = no GUNS.  I'll bet the backpack guns either do not come off, or are not included.

Ok so now we have a TF line where Prime is about the same size as Rumble - FRENZY?!?!?!?!

Its interesting how contraversial this one character being an Alt is going to cause...

And yet ANNOYING!!!!

I just hung a new shelf for my alt's dang it and I don't have enough room as it is!

1  Little cars

2  Honda - GUNS

3  Little characters/scale to larger characters

4  Rumble or Frenzy?

5  Is there going to be a different version for the blue one that looks like the concept?

6  Where's the hands?

To answer #6 I believe they are trying to FOOL US.  I think that the arms work both ways.  In the toy shot, the car parts are up at the shoulders and show off the Earth Quake pistons.  BUT then I think they swing around so that the hands come out like X-Brawn style.  Very cleaver Takara/Hasbro…

*will have no money this yr*

We're gonna be waiting like a month or so for this answer.

Very good point. They certainly appear that the could pivot 360 around the shoulders. Maybe the trunk opens and forearms transform? Nothings impossible at this stage...
