Did a better version of Frenzy. Its kept basic for now...

Might have to incorporate some of that into mine. :tfhuh

I think everone is missing my point.... i wasnt questioning whether or not Rumble ever held a gun.

I was pointing out that Wikkid specifically mentioned the gun *clips* and then complained that the bot had no hands -

Now hold on Mr. Fussy britches. There's a big difference between complaining and pointing something out. (Please take that with a "load" of sarcasm or I'll be disappointed)

Besides, just for Blots and giggles, If you're suggesting those guns clip onto his pile drivers, I for one would like to see him do it with no opposing thumbs. :tflaugh

For the record, I'll say this before anyone else steps in. "OMFG alternators aren't real so they don't require real world skills such as the ability to grab a weopon"

I don't look forward to the crappy repaint of this as Eject or Rewind instead of what we want. You KNOW it will happen.

Also, Alts tend to base themselves of 'toon designs instead of toy homages, in which case, this really should be Frenzy.

(Not an opinion, don't argue)

*argues*

IMO the Homage-Alts are a combination of toy and toon, at least to the extent that they're homages at all. And as has been said a bazillion times before, the US cartoon is the only thing that switched the names. Everything else has always been RIRFIB.

not that I relish that debate again, but you know it's coming

Ok, the question is, is the G1 cartoon the thing you base your transformers mythos on?

Personally I don't give two turds about the Marvel comic, pure crap.  Don't even get me started on their coloring, inconsistent doesn't even begin to discribe it.

The G1 toy line was re-releases of toys from other lines.  The toon came up with the characters I care about.  The toys were attemps at having representations of the Toon characters I loved.

Hastak has screwed up plenty of homages for various reasons over the past ten years,  both in their toys and in their toons, so really, for me and many others, the G1 Cartoon is the authority.  It is the source.  That is why I'm making a G1 Skyfire.  He was the character.  Jetfire was just a toy, just a macross repaint.  Thats why I want an anime accurate Bumblebee head.  Thats why I want my G1 prime to have blue eyes and tinted windows.  That is why I will never buy a G1 Ironhide (headless freak).

And apparently Hastak understands that at points.  Look at THS02 or Masterpiece Convoy.  Do they have yellow eyes?  Are their chest windows smoky clear?  No, because it is more important to reference the G1 Cartoon than the G1 Toy.  And THAT is why Rumble is Blue and Frenzy is Red.

Well, like I said, I didn't really want to debate this.

But you're just telling me "this was my subjective experience." Which is fine. If it makes you happy, then go for it. Just don't expect everyone else to take your subjective experience as fact.

The toys were attemps at having representations of the Toon characters I loved.

Except the toys came first.

The show is clearly not more important than the comic or toys as far as HasTak's treatment goes because they have incorproated aspects of all into their mythos and fan nods.

In fact, the very fact that we're looking at a RED Alt rumble says the show is not the most important factor at all.

Rumble is red, even the show's bible says so, this argument is tried, the only reason people even still care is because a handful of people are constantly trying to validate their preference as "right" and force it on us, let it go...

Whether he's Rumble or Frenzy I care not.  He kicks major ass.  I was a bit disappointed at first that they're not going with the asymmetrical design, but I've also long considered that design practically unworkable and spent many seconds, even a few minutes, trying to figure out how it would transform and yet house the full interior etc.  And regardless of how his guns work, the fact that they're there at all is to me one of the biggest surprises.  Honda hasn't been all that cool with guns thus far, at least not on US releases.  If he's got 'em it means someone decided to quit being so wussy about it.  Overall I can say I dig it.  I'll definitely add this to my collection.

*waits for the official pics of rumble with his neutered stumps being labled as "scanners" *

probably the most show accurate looking Alt ever

I thought that was Hound?

anyways, at least it looks better then Alt Prime... I'll have to wait for more photos to determine my liking.  while I do hope that he'll have regular arms, I'm more concern with the arm articulation from that picture.
