Divebomb, and megs, best energons.

Picked up Skyblast the plane omnicon since I was in target to get a shower curtain. I must say for 6.99 I'm impressed has a nice plane mode that is very cowboy bebop for those who watch that show,

I've seen Cowboy Bebop and I don't see any resemblence of Skyblast to any ship on the show :tfevil . And speaking of Cowboy Bebop, I'd like to see transformable versions of Spike's Swordfish, Faye's Yellowtail and/or even the Bebop itself!

 

Skyblast is more like a cross between a VF-2 in Macross 2 "Lovers Again" and G1 Skyfire from the original TF cartoon.

 

If your looking for other good Energon toys might I suggest:

Starscream

Divebomb

Perceptor

Energon Saber

Prowl

Rodimus Prime

Hot Shot

Inferno

Dude! Skyblast DOES look like the Swordfish!! He has the Jumbo-cannon just like the swordfish and has a similar shape. At least in my opinion :tfgrin

id say get starscream, divebomb, megatron and landmine in any order, i love all 3 of those

 

stay away from jetfire though, he's terrible imo, i prefer my ironhide over him

And me, I'm still completely in the dark about all the Jetfire hate. Why?

I knew someone else would see the resemblance, Im curious as to the jetfire hate, I like his character and was thinkign of getting him, but I HATE ironhide, and the fact that his head is visible as day during transformation annoys the hell out of me, but anyways why is jetfire such a bad toy, I know hes stocky and what not, but isn't he supposed to be that way?

Jetfire is poor in quality and apearance. I don't like his robot or ship modes, but shirt and pants are OK.

 

1. The one I own has a shoulder that won't connect to the torso, and I see no options for fixing it. 2. Hadn't touched him for days and I'd only fired his missile maybe twice, but out of nowhere the sound of a missile firing. I'm like WTF? turn around and the missile had fired out of his launcher. Tried to stick it back in, and through the clear plastic I could see that the little clip that holds the missile had just popped off. WEAK!

1. Fine on mine. Shoulder connection work just like they should.

2. Launcher's fine here, too.

 

And personally, I love Jetfire's appearance in both robot and shuttle modes. And he is supposed to be stocky looking. The small-ish head helps that. Everybody keeps bashing on the head, but has everyone seriously not seen The Hulk or Juggernaut (well, Juggy has a hugeass helmet, but Cain's head underneath is proportionately pretty tiny)? When the character's meant to look like a bruiser, a smaller head works.

 

My only complaints about him:

1. elbow joints could be a titch tighter

2. make trigger on gun not so easy to press accidentally

well I knew if I looked hard enough I'd find a disappointment, I like the toy in general but the wings bother me, they are painted pretty well, but the opposite side isn't so if you change him to robot mode the paint is on the opposite side, I fixd this by popping his wings off and switching them around, but then if you turn him back to plane mode the non painted side faces up...needless to say this is a pain to do since I am constantly playing with him. Is the takara version painted on both sides?

I like Jetfire as well, he looks like a butt-kicker.

 

Plus, I cant resist tapping his head everytime I walk by him to hear that beautiful "transformation sound."
