I wouldn't say ignorant, I'd say unaccustomed.

And sometimes ignorant.

 

Whilst some of my firends have automatically assumed they were figures of young kids with women's bodies, or in male cases, mens bodies with girls faces, others have known better, but have difficulty shaking the pre-concieved stereotype.

After a while they grow accustomed to them and see them for what they are though.

A couple have even started collecting.

I'd say mostly ignorant. I even know a guy that denies that girls start developing sexy bodies before 18, as if they stay young an innocent till the age of consent. I say wake up, because that's how girls look that age(okay, ignoring the gigantic anime eyes). And besides, most of the BTA girls aren't THAT young anyway...

 

On topic-Why are ppl so excited that Prime is released as a BT? We already have Alt Prime out, and that CREEPY YOUNG FLESH CREATURE isn't with him...

There's a lot of non Alt collectors out there who look down on the plastic versions, so for them Prime, Mirage and Rumble were a grudgingly neccessary evil they no longer have to settle for.

That's great imo for all the BT collectors, but personally I have no problem remaining a 100% Alt collector. A paintjob, dicast construction and an anime figure just dont justisfy the price markup for me.

 

Maybe if two anime chicks were included I'd consider it but for now Alts all the way. :thumb

And I would be one of them. Alts are fine. I own the first five molds from the Alt line, but I replaced them w/ BTs once I became addicted. If I am getting a Mirage and Rumble, then I want them in diecast.

But see how that is the great part? We all have options now. Everyone can be happy.

 

Either spend less and get an Alt and be happy w/ your plastic or spend more and get diecast and be happy w/ that. You don't have to spend more for a figure if you don't want to and you don't have to settle for plastic if you don't want to. Everyone wins.

Maybe since BTA isn't part of the official BT continuity, they decided to release Prime as part the the BTA so it wont muck up there story. I can see Black Convoy being put into the BT story though.

The yellow eyes look better IMO. Hope we get some full body shots soon so we can see if they add some extra paint apps to break up all that red.

I'm still overwhelmingly unimpressed with this mold.

Still going for Alt. If Prime came with Sparkplug, then I would like him.

 

But these figures have barely any connection with G1. Makes them kinda pointless.

 

Not to mention that Sunstreaker would NEVER allow a human to drive him.  :tdown
