Universe Optimus Prime yellow RiD - Figure

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I just bought my first Transformer ( Leobreaker ) in 20 years and it feels good to back in the TF world. :clap

:tflaugh Could Someone tell me the history on the Yellow Universe Optimus Prime? I seen it in a comic book store for $25 and picked it up the guy said it was a Sam's Club only item. Why is this Optimus Prime yellow? I've seen a red fire truck Optimus Prime but yellow.

  Thanks

The only thing I can think of is that there are yellow firetrucks? Or used to be anyways, dumb I know, but that is all I can think of, I never seen RID. :roll My name, just means I am the first one, like #2, #3, #4... I hate it, I wanted it changed to StarConvoy, but no luck.

Well Congrats on your purchase! Let there be many more and welcome to the forum!!!

:tfevil

it was part of the Transformers: Universe line, they all had bright colored schemes to identify them apart from other releases. And yes, it was a sams club only item. there is also an Ultra Magnus to round it out.

Airports use yellow (as well as red) fire engines.

It's no Hino Brandbilar, but you get the picture.

Was the companion piece to this black, like the mini dude?

I'd love to own a black U. Magnus.

yep! those minis were the same colors as the big ones in the universe line.

I'm pretty sure the yellow had something to do with unicron's virus which was why the universe release of the original gorilla optimus primal was changed to maroon, red, green and yellow. if you want to know more about the virus and the story line for universe, i suggest you get the transformers universe botcon comics. they never came out with the last issue for the miniseries but its pretty cool none the less. it also gives an explanation on how all the different shows and comics can fit together.

Yeah, that was an awesome deal. Plus, it really does look better than I thought it would. I wish they'd do more of these.

Went back to the comic book store and ask if they had the Ultra Magnus, but they did not. The guy did send me to a toy store that did have it for $40. Had to get it to complete the set.
