I am so so so so so so sick of the bitching about this toy. :roll x infinity I have still seen or read nothing to indicate that he is as bad as people seem to believe he is. I never thought I'd be the one to say this, but if you don't like him, then don't buy him and STFU about it.

(FWIW I won't be buying him)

except every review that has been put out by the owners of said toy :tflaugh

I hardly find this review to be as objective as you all seem to think it is. He bought the thing fully expecting it to be a steaming pile of crap, and lo and behold that was the conclusion he came to once he'd opened it. What a shock :roll

it it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...................

I'm just saying that there's a lot of bias against this guy. You can't write an objective review if you've spent months prior to that review hating on it.

i don't think that's true.  In fact i'd say that starting out with lower expectations is usually a surefire way to get a "Wow not as bad as i thought" kind of review.

The tone of the review & comments indicated to me that he was pretty negative on the figure prior to getting it. I guess the part that mystifies me is that I look at him and ask myself the question "is he worse than any other Alternator?" and my immediate answer is "no". So I just don't get it.

My thoughts exactly. No offense Madhammer, but you did read the review at the beginning of this topic right?

On that note, I will admit that I hated the mold choice and overall look of Prowl when I first saw the prototype, but honestly I have come to like that figure (once I did the leg mod that is). I had preconceived notions about it, but once I had it in my hand, I changed my mind quite a bit.

Also, it's not just Behold_Galvatron's review that says these things. Jaquartron pointed out pretty much the same problems when he got the proto, so did Tman when he posted his pics. Tman really likes Prime, but he did mention the same problems as everyone else. The reviews that I have read (done by people willing to pay more to get the figure early I might add) all say it may not be as bad as we think, but it is still not the best.

There are a legion of fans that automatically DISlike any Optimus Prime toy just because there are those (like myself) who are predisposed to liking any OP toy just because it is an Optimus Prime.  It is more elite, to them, to bash the OP lovers because it makes them seem different, or as having better tastes.  It's snobbery, really, pure and simple.

I am sure this figure has its faults.  From the pictures, the knees seem too high, the waist plate is plain and boring, and the shoulder armor is clunky.  However, the same could be said about many other Alternators, for example the kibble off the back of the Mustangs, the legs of the Vipers, etc.  Again, I think many are just seizing on the chance to gripe about an Alt. Prime for the simple reason that he IS a Prime.
