Clean Sweep

Recommended Posts

Actually, I figure if someone went into my room like that, they'd get scared of the OTHER stuff besides TFs I have in there.

Never heard of the show but in The Netherlands there is a show where people who are starting to live together are helped by the staff from that show in regards to what is kept. They select the stuff that can stay and whatever needs to be thrown out.

Yeah, like anyone is going to decide what my house looks like. I am going to the decorating MYSELF and my partner may offer suggestions but that is it. If she does not like that, then she can sod off.  :tflaugh

Right On!!

For those who do not know, TLC is a Cable net work station that has its early Sunday schedule based around home make over shows.  Trading spaces and shows like it.

This show, Clean Sweep, goes a little beyond the usual make over show and tries to get people to dump excess baggage.  Even have a room, or know someone with so much junk in a spare bed room (or worse) that you can not even walk inside.

They come in to a home, usually a couple with a 2 or 3 bedroom, with junk PILED SKY HIGH.  They re-do 2 rooms, usually a bed room and the living room, and remove EVERYTHING inside it, placing it on tarps in the yard.  Ref 1, this pretty blond lady Tava Smiley, walks them through breaking down the starter pile into KEEP, SELL and TRASH.  Most of the time they just move the items to the KEEP pile, and then comes in the reinforcements.  The organizer Guru comes in, with his Australian accent and gets them to rationalize their stuff, and figure out what's important.

Then they take the rooms and put up shelves, and paint, and make a desk, and a head board, add a dresser and closet kit and PRESTO new home, with a couple hundred bucks back from the yard sale.

I have seen 007 collections tossed.  Hotwheeles.  1,000 monogramed golf balls (later turned into a wall of golf balls).

I can imagine this guy trying to tell me, "Now you caun't keep all these toys."  "You had them when you were a child, you have pictures to remember them on the computer, you don't have the space."

Build me a whole wall and collectors case and that's my dream decoration for a wall.

Okay, now the title of this thread finally makes sense to me.

Actually, I figure if someone went into my room like that, they'd get scared of the OTHER stuff besides TFs I have in there.

Or what's going on in there.... :thumb
