What about Black Widow? I was living in Japan when Beast Wars was out, so most of my early BW figures are from Japan - so instead of Blackarachnia, I got Black Widow, who looks better than Blackarachnia IMO.

I think Blackwidow and JP Tigatron's showlike colours look nice. I don't think that JP Tigatron looks any better or worse than Hasbro Tigatron. However I do think that Blackwidow does look better than Blackarachnia. I much prefer the heavier use of black, purple and gold vs Hasbro's green and white. Blackarachnia doesn't look bad though.

As I said before, the main reason I got the Takara versions of the early BW TFs was because I was living in Japan at the time, not because I was actively seeking out showlike colours. I generally don't care that much about show likeness (and I dislike the term show "accuracy").

P.S.: But despite what you or I may think about toys recoloured to be showlike, I think that the overwhelming success/popularity of e-Hobby Astrotrain demonstrates how popular showlike toys are amongst the fandom. It's little wonder that when they reissued Galvatron that they did the reverse of Astrotrain. Where as the standard Astrotrain reissue was toy-accurate (at least to the Japanese G1 version) with the show-like recolour being the limited exclusive, they reissued the show-like recolour as the standard reissue and the toy-accurate version as the limited exclusive (although Galvatron II is supposed to be based on the Marvel Comics, where Galvatron was always had toy-accurate colours anyway).
