Says who?

Uh, yeah dude . . . last I checked Binaltech is still crankin' 'em out.

He dosn't?

Nope. Binaltech Asterisk are written by some other writer sourced by Takara, and not Ichikawa himself. I think BT Skids and Galvatron II were among his final works for Takara - afaik, he's not writing for Takara(Tomy) anymore.

Okay, I know that sometimes things can't be explained easily...but where on earth did the Season 2 Autobots come from.  I can't recall an episode where they were explained.  They were just there.  Heavy Metal War ended season 1.  Onto Season 2...WHOAH, new Autobots.  Where'd they come from.  The only one I know has an introduction...well, sort of, is Omega Supreme who first appeared in Blaster's Blues.  The season 3 characters were all movie/post movie which took place in the far future from where season 2 left off, so they're explained easily.  But that still leaves a fair amount of the season 2 characters that don't make any appearance in episodes exactly but just happen to be there.

I always figured that the Autobots had been in contact with Cybertron by then and had found some way to get some reinforcements.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I can vaguely recall an episode where cosmos was flying in outter space and crash landed on earth and met the autobots. As far as Omega Supreme I thought that he was brought from cyberton to aid in the battle.

His size and personality kind of had him as an outsider.I think optimus had to persuade him to help their cause even though he was sent to earth to do so.

But I'm just thinking.... with however many episodes they had per season, and considering how they made the introduction of the Stunticons/Aerialbots into a big two-parter (shoot, they gave a two-parter to the Combaticons alone).... could they not have written an episode about the 1985 guys' origins? Origin stories are always fun and easy to write anyway. I don't think any of us would have missed "Child's Play"...

Oh God. Only cool thing about that was a big kid playing with the TF like they were Toys just like we were doing. With Perceptor and Blaster being characters in the movie they could have definately put the other Combiners in there.

Did any one wonder, "Wait a minute! Where did Blaster get tapes from?!" Or did you go, "Cool!" and not think about it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey, they said there was a 20-year gap... I was totally fine with a bunch of new characters showing up.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I was also cool with the new characters. But I also think in all fairness and to avoid repetitive origins they just added characters. I remember how I reacted when Blaster ejected 4 tapes to take on Soundwaves ravage and rumble and the other guys.

I think I had only seen him eject one or two different tapes in the tv series. And with Kup and Rodimus and all these other guys showing up, you know they came from cybertron and at the point where the movie took place. Both sides were planning major attacks so new characters were bound to come up.With an explanation or not.

But I will say this for whatever significant reason as far as the combaticons and characters who got their own special episodes. I'm sure there was a good reason why attention was paid to their arrival and not to other characters, per the writers, animators and producers. And we may never know why.

Of all of Blaster's tape appearances, it seemed very rare to see both Rewind and Eject at the same time.
