asking questions is great as it can lead to conversations and if hasbro do take watch thn it can give them ideas. yeah you can google or wikki your questions but we all know the info can be scattered at bes and between the fans theres basically no information or theory that we cant get and that what makes fandoms so good as it unifys fans and strengthens the franchise

yeah what he said...i wish i could have worded it that way

:schin THUNDERCRACKER NEW MOVIE IN!

THis guy is complaing like he has been here a long time....he hasnt he is still new....now let someone lik Madhammer complain about answering the same questions and I would take him more seriously.

based off of how knowledgable Goki is... i bet he's been in the fandom long before any of us.

as to the link itself... I've read it multiple times over the past five years. it's a good source of info for like.... early BW stuff and earlier. that's IT.

Theres some nice tidbits in there like how the writeres considered the cast of G1 as Transmetals

Most people don't join forums to read stuff as they would on a site.

They usually want to interact in the here and now.

Add to that retcon and new threads just seem the best way to get the right info.

Also, if I don't want to go over something again, I just don't respond to the thread or will link to another.

I dunno, I just think that this place would either be too quiet if we didn't have new people asking old stuff, or everyone would be moaning that all we ever get is newbs ressurecting old threads.

Actually, it doesn't matter to me WHO is complaining. It's still complaining and that gets old.

And you'd be right Mr I.S.T.  Goki has been online in the TF community for many years now.  In his time he's served in a number of Australian TF communities, such as Ozformers and TAAU.

I remember finding his boards when I was first looking for TF fan bases within Australia, before I decided to stick with some of the bigger, American boards.  (More people, and more discussion on the TFs I actually knew rather than the Japanese ones. :tftounge )  He had a homepage at one time, but I don't know what's happened to it since I last saw it.  (Back when RiD began to air!)

either way - talking to other people and getting opinions of said people is what forums are about - bringing back old subjects is a good thing....comparing the time we have been fans is kinda silly though - seems a bit funny saying how I have been a fan longer than u......let's not do that, we are all here cause we like robots - just enjoy the boards....

I wouldn't consider interpretations of a few Transfreaks as ultimate answers, but some topics are still entertaining to read.

Howdie,

I don't mind people asking questions or starting discussions. It's just that there are certain questions and topics that have been asked and discussed ad nauseum throughout the fandom - hence the term Frequently Asked Questions! :)

I don't have a problem with people asking questions and starting discussions here, but I'm sure you can all appreciate that it just gets banally tedious and pedantic having to answer the same questions and discussions over and over and over again.

All I'm asking is, if you have a question, check the FAQ - yes it's old and hasn't been updated for a long time - but if your question is already on this old FAQ, then you know that it's a damn old and very frequently asked question!! If it's not on the FAQ and you can't find it on a search engine, then fine - by all means post a question here or start a discussion about it. I believe this is the entire reason why people write FAQs in the first place.

Thank you. :D

Whoa hey! I also helped create Australia's TF convention - Sabretron. Hoping to have another one later this year! *crosses transistors*

Whoa hey, an old visitor of Planet Sabretron! (that's why Seibertron.com is spelt that way, btw - I called first dibs on the Anglo spelling :P). Lots of cobwebs on that old site... the only really useful thing there now is the Sabretron convention site. ;)

Wow... were you around when I used to do the Transformers of the Month thing, which I updated almost every freakin' month. Every week people were emailing or msging me with their requests for TFOTM! Heh... thanks for the trip down memory lane! :D

I still consider myself an active member of the Aussie fandom, although my main role is the convention - oh, and occasional cosplaying and Karaoke Idol comps at other cons. :) Griffin, dirge and I are kinda like the Australian equivalent of 3H... only with a very different rapport with Hasbro, but I'm not going to go there. :P Hi Hasbro! Love ya! (^___________^)
