Chromedome also had a really interesting back story... the flashback to his best friend dying was pretty well written IMO.

And therein lies my problem with Headmasters.  Wheelie and Daniel EVERYWHERE.  Friend to Sixshot?  HE'S STILL DANIEL.  Loud mouth punk who questions EVERYTHING at Autobot command?  HE'S STILL WHEELIE. Truth be told, I prefer him as the "one line okay I'm done" stooge of Season 3 (let's not go into Surprise Party, please) as opposed to "Ah, those idiots are all doomed, why should we listen to them?" ass from Headmasters.

 

And then all the Pre-Headmaster Autobots tell him to shush and watch the battle on the monitor because they're too useless to do anything but watch.

The old friend dying storyline has also been overdone actually.

 

There are plenty of movie/tv/cartoon/comic characters who saw their best friend killed and want to get back at the person who killed him.

I think they should have a story where an Autobot is actually happy to kill off a comrade. That'll blow everybody's mind away.

Chromedome did kill his best friend, but only becuse he had a bomb in his tummy
