Why is Rebirth so hated?

Well, the Constructicons did make a short cameoappereance of 2-3 seconds. And of course Bumblebee in the last shot which was an animation error.

Sure. That wasn't a glitch. It was Pretender Bumblebee in the background.

And if you want to get really technical, Spike was there since the begining of the G1 cartoons - he actually got a figure of him made.

Spike's toy was new in 1987 though, that was kind of my point

Yeah, I get it. Like I said, one massive commercial. :clap

It wasn't a particularly effective commercial IMO, since they kept introducing characters so fast you lost track of who everyone was halfway through.

Back to Rebirth - is it me, or were they trying to recreate the dynamics of the original G1 minispies (Brawn, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Huffer, Windcharger, and Gears) with the Throttlebots? I see Wideload being the whiney puss that Huffer was, and Rollbar being the tough guy that Brawn was, and how wisecracking Chase and Freeway were, sort of like Cliffjumper and Windcharger.

I like Searchlight, too. He's supposed to be this grouchy paranoid (like Gears,) but in Rebirth, he didn't say anything.

In order to recreate those dynamics, the Throttlebots would have had to be given more than one line apiece. And it would have helped if they had told us all their names too.

The Throttlebots were introduced in "The Return of Optimus Prime." They all had something to say and now come to think of it, they were the minispies....
