Yes they did (forgot about that), not to mention Sixshot (I want to see him in all his glory). I loved how Slge wouldn't let go of Octanes head and it was creeping Grimlock out.

Great Theory Thad (the Impaling one to avoind confusion)

I didn't even realize it was Sixshot until I saw him in MTMTE #6. They need to show more of him, cuz he was just in vehicle mode in G1 vol 2 #3.

you're thinking of the 2nd aerialbot episode, where slingshot got the rolls-royce chest... can't think of the title right now, but Bruticus was in that episode. But that's also because the episode was placed way out of order so they could market the aerialbots. We can't do anything about the inconsistencies within the episodes, but the episodes themselves can be placed in different orders to give a semblence of continuity.

Constructicon Theory: Being Decepticons all along, they secretly craved violence yet promoted peace by building many of Cybertron's city-scapes. Secretly they built Megatron as the ultimate warrior for the underground gladatorial matches. They programmed him and built him so well in fact, that when he was given life by Vector Sigma, he was the highly intelligent, extremely charasmatic, and the most powerful Decepticon yet. So charasmatic that the constructicons chose to follow Megatron and assist him in his rise to leadership, building for him the Robosmasher and reconfiguring themselves to be able to combine into Devastator, whom Megatron intended on being the ultimate Decepticon warrior. Flaws in the process however revealed weakness exploited in their first clash against Omega Supreme. Fearing for their lives against the now vengeful Omega Supreme, they requested assistance from Megatron. Megatron, knowing that Omega Supreme was virtually unstoppable, and would be detrimental to his conquest of Cybertron, chose to sacrifice his warriors, removing their sparks and personality components and launching their lifeless bodies into deep space. Omega Supreme in his blind rage pursued the ship when he discovered of it's launch, bent only on destroying the Constructicons.

Leap forward at least 4 million years later, Megatron, his forces on Earth now outnumbered by the Autobots and their new Dinobots, sets his warriors to build new bodies for the Constructicons, and merging them with the sparks/personality components he and Soundwave had kept hidden, and thus the Constructicons were reborn. Soon after, Omega Surpreme in his tireless hunt learns of the true location of the Constructicons, and eventually joins Optimus in his quest to destroy his once friends.

Purely theory, but i find it makes the most sense :)

in "the secret of omega supreme", OS, talks about how he and the constructicons were friends and how he helped them build crystal city and he would protect it. after that, you said megatron with a really stuipd looking machine with tentacles and he uses that on the constructicons and turn them evil, and they fight OS.

ok here's what we know about the constructicons (G1 show continuity) (and a lot of blows that theory away):

The were "built here in these caverns" on Earth...and did not have cybertronium in them because of this (like the dinobots...they were the only two teams that could function when all the other robots were fallin apart).

They lived on Cybertron LONG before being built...and did not have an allegiance to either side. They built cities around Cybertron and everything. But then Megatron, trying to boost the ranks of the (relatively) new Decepticon army, used his machine to change them into Decepticons. He also modified them so they could combine.

The constructicons, being among the first decepticons, built Megatron to lead!

So basically: The constructicons built Megatron who later came and CHANGED them to evil. Then they got built millions and millions of years later on earth by Megatron (their own creation).

Any questions?
