I was watching my season 3 DVDs the other day and I came to 'starscreams ghost' which took place after 'thief in the nite'. Sandstorm and Octane were palling around like they were old buddies. Then after that you never really see either of them much at all, let alone together. Use your imagination and it reminded me of Han/Lando's friendship. I know Sandstorm came from Paradron but you didnt see Oc there anywhere. Anyone have any solid evidence or even just half-cocked ideas on this?

I dunno.

However, the cartoon was known for it plot holes. I enjoy making up my own stories for these plot holes. Hell, that's half the fun. :tftongue

I dunno, they're both triple changers

Ok, so half-cocked ideas and confused head scratching it is! Still, it WAS cool in the space truckstop scene where a 'bot and a 'con are just hanging out.

looks like :tfgrin

Well if you use the War Within as the basis for the background for the transformers, then it would make sense, like with starscream and grimlock in the arena. Transformers were created in two seperate fields the autobots the workers, and decepticons as the military. So they were not always enemies, and since it is a civil war then it would make sense that friends could end up on opposing sides.

There is my two cents.

that and in DW continuity, Shockwave reformatted Sandstorm, Octane, and the others into triple changers. So they all met through that experience.

The DW continuity cannot provide any info into the old show continuity! I don't know what you guys are thinking...sure maybe the other way around (some of the old episodes happened in the DW continuity...such as when Spike was put into an autobot body) but you cannot take stuff from WW to explain stuff in the old show. It just doesn't work.

Ok so...I was wondering the same thing...Sandstorm seems to take in Octane as if he's a good friend...it really doesn't make any sense...but oh well. They could have met any number of ways. Just because they didn't make a show about it doesn't mean it didn't happen! Look at the gap between season 2 and the movie...obviously a lot happened that was never put in a show. We have to just use faith that it makes sense somehow. Besides, its the least of our worries with all the flat-out contradictions that the old show makes with itself.

Disregard the DW material and you are still left with a Civil War, where friends can end up on different sides. The WW reference was only there as an example, but I should have been more clear.

I was just saying how it is in DW, as clearly mentioned in my post. I'm not saying that's how it is in G1. I was just giving an example. Sheesh, such drama queens :tflaugh
