Well the new Beast Wars Comic

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to say to that guy who had a hissy fit on page 2 saying this was his last post, that I wasn't claiming to come up with the idea that BW megs and primal delux were their cybertronian forms, I read that on these boards, probably from his post, I was just confirming it.

I didn't realize I was suposed to provide a bibliography of where I hear ideas from on the message boards, lol.  Ah well, sorry he has to leave.  I guess you could say that was his Hardest Burden to Bare.

the ironic thing is that he was wrong :P

as Xbob already pointed out, we saw Megatron's pre-Earth robot mode in Beast Wars and it looked totally different. There are other things I could point to but really, it's stupid to even have to do so. This shouldn't even be up for debate.

Toys designed and produced ten years after the fact =/= canon

(and the same goes for comics)

Yeah... Kopibot's emo outburst there kinda makes me feel embarrassed as a fellow Australian. I'd like to apologise to the rest of the world out there for his conduct. (-_-)

I liked Mazinkaiser's response. ;)

We're taking it into cartoon canon because BW continuity is perhaps the most  coherent continuity out of all the TF-series. plus, Simon Furman, writer of the comics, wrote some BW-eps, and is known to be able to write "in continuity".

Heres a Picture of Lio Convoy's Cybertronian form from the anime

P.S. Don't even bother trying to think up names and alt modes for BW character's that were introduced via Status pod(except Rampage and Packrat) as the majority of them are "newborns"

Says you. Wolfang immidiately knew what a "Predacon" was, how it smelled, and that it's an opponent, not an ally. Ergo, he had this knowledge prior to entering the stasis-pod, ergo, he wasn't a "newborn".

The Status pod Transformers have prior knowlage of Cybertron, and the war before they are born via implanted memories.

Silverbolt: "Cybertron... the home I've never known."

It's called a "figure of speech", Silverbolt has/had some pre-programmed data of Cybertron(implanted memories), he knows about it. However he has not "known it as a home" because he had never been activated on Cybertron. Is there a difference between a "house" and a "home"? It's a figurative expression.

Or if you must take every single word of creative writing literally, Silverbolt was a fuzor who's pre-programming got messed up so he knew, but forgot before he was ever conscious.

i guss you can look at it like this...

if your whole family is from London lets say, but you were born in the USA..London would be the home you've never known

I just think you're reading too much into it. The show said that his data tracks were lost, so he's got no pre-stasis pod memories. It's not that difficult to figure out.

Wait... what are you saying? Protoforms are or are not "newborns"?

You're quote of "the home I've never known" seemed to imply you trying to argure all protoforms have no memories/data... but now you're justifying why specifically Silverbolt doesn't have memories?

I'm not reading too much into it. Taking it as a figure of speech is not reading anything into it, and is my point of view. Taking it literally and explaining miniscule details of fiction is what I would call reading too much into it..... I just don't know what you're trying to say.

The show saying his data tracks were messed up and thus no memories is, I agree, not difficult to figure out and a thought I explained before you telling me "It's not that difficult to figure out."

Maybe I was unclear on what you were saying. My understanding is that the protoforms acted as spark containers / raw materials for a shell, and the data tracks were stored in the stasis pod, to be stuck back into the shell once it had been created. But Silverbolt's (and Quickstrike's) stasis pods were damaged in the quantum surge, and their data tracks were lost. So I guess my point is that Silverbolt *had* memories of Cybertron (in his stasis pod), but they were all lost when his pod got screwed up.

Makes more sense.
