He's supposed to be for the 20th anniversary of the movie, and come with different "movie-specific" accessories, whatever that means.  (However, I assume he'll still sport his big rifle, which is the only accessory of mine I've ever actually used.)

Hasbro has "officially" announced that they are reissuing 20th Prime.

Keep in mind that Hasbro has "officially announced" things in the past that were, in essence, bullsh!t.  All of these "official announcements" generally happen at or around the yearly ToyFair. 

 

T'would be cool, though if Hasbro does re-release it.  I would love to have one that I didn't have to panic about being on a high shelf.  I haven't even taken my MP-01 out of the box for like a year and a half, because I'm afraid he'll fall and bust something off.  I don't care about short stacks for a display piece, cuz MP-01 slumbers in his ultimately safe rubbermaid box in my storage area.

If you want an 20th Prime, the comic store by my house has one for 120 and he haggles easily.

when i originall got MP prime from BBTS i was surprised to find a already broken smoke stack, and he was sealed!! Total bummer...I never got the domestic hasbro realease because i did not really care for the "battle damage." So now i have two open MP primes, because of course i opened the replacement to make sure it was not already broke! I think i paied $109.99 for him originally. the hasbro one sold here for $69.99 at walmart, so hopefully it will be the same or cheaper this  time lol...yeah right.

when mp01 was released i bought two, one for me and one for my friend. i didnt pay over 200 canadian after shipping. every once and a while im smart enough to not miss the boat.

 

but if i were you id go for the 20th and repro stacks. but if i were me without my mp prime, id buckle down and buy the inflated price on mp01. but thats just me.
