Unless TFs sprinkle pixie dust on themselves whenever they wanna change sizes...

So people have no problem with giant alien machines that turn into cars but they cant shrik because people may not buy it?

Has the world gone mad?, if we buy giant alien robots why cant they shrink?, there alien god knows what they can do.

:tfevil

apparently not "provide internally consistent logic"

I kind of agree with him though....having no issues with mass shifting myself.....if I can accept that there are alien robots that can transform into cars and sell propel themselves, think and feel like humans.....why not change size? I know what you mean LMH....that it needs some kind of explination Internally on the Bots, however if the mass of people accept that robots that transform exist on a whim? why not mass shift?

Science is not magic. That is all.

Or so you think...

:epic

"Soundwave (Later: Soundblaster in Japan) is a fictional character from the Transformers metaseries. Soundwave transforms, shrinking as he does so, into a cassette deck, and holds smaller cassette-mode Transformers inside of him."

"He can shrink as he transforms, assuming sizes that comfortably allow either another Transformer or a human to wield him. In one instance, he retained his full size and connected to jet-mode Starscream's underside."

they were well known for it but yeah it might be kind of hard for our kids of today grasping the idea...like it was for me to see he-man get out of the water and not be wet .... i just didnt understand why but he was so much cooler for it;)..i like the whole imagination thing it takes to grasp something like that

You realize that "mass-shifting" was only conceived of because Soundwave, Megatron, and a few others were part of the old Takara Microman line. In that toyline's comic story, from what I know, they never shifted size to be 20 feet tall. Really, it was just the animators/scriptwriters trying to rationalize the fact that these giant robots could change to human-sized objects. Don't get me wrong, I like gun Megs and cassette deck Soundwave, but mass-shifting was made up as a convenience for the show's creators.

You realize that they transform because they were part of the old Takara Microman line, right?

:tfhuh what?

I'm not following your point here...

Anyway, TFs was originally cobbled together from unrelated toy lines of transforming robots. Mass-shifting was used as a device that allowed them to have them dramatically change size and shape without a long-winded explanation...
