Meh, call me when it's actually in theaters and gets at least three stars from reputable movie critics.

I hope your standards weren't that high when TF:TM came out.

I was six years old when it came out and I didn't even know it was playing in the theater anyway.

neither did anyone else :tflaugh

It did come out the same week as Aliens did.

I didn't even exist, myself...

as to mass shifting....

works within G1, but leave it out elsewhere.

Same here, and I remembered every moment of it.

So are the jets going to be 40 foot tall while most of the cars are 15 foot? Not much of a match up :tfhuh

forget about Megatron and soundwave, they need mass shifting just to explain why the interior of  of their car mode has leather seats and a DVD player.

Exactly...that's a good thing. The Autobots were never really supposed to be war machnies and this supports the theory. Nothing says they can't adapt, however.

Just doing my part as a friendly neighborhood jaded fanboy

beast wars animals were not to scale because they were to scale with the Robots that the animal forms covered....if they aninals were to scale....there would have bee MAJOR mass shifting for Tarantulas, blackarachnia, inferno...and so on....I think it beast wars case it was better to base the size of their Animal ALt mode on the size of the robot they were covering.

That was the point... in BW, the animators actually approached the size issue intelligently, rhater than just disregarding it as in G1.  The beast modes were derived as a shape thing only, by scanning local life forms for a design.  THe size was based on the bot mode, as you said.

In G1, the animators just didn't give a Blot, they were just drawing the charachters based on the toys, which as stated above elsewhere in this thread, were randomly pulled from other fledgling japanese toylines and mashed into one line here in the US.  In the original lines, there were no tape players and guns fighting cars and stuff, they were in two different lines.  That would be like debating the "scale differences" of M.A.S.K. figures and G.I. Joes.

And by the way, "MASS SHIFTING" is a bullBlot fan-made concept, nothing more.  Deal.

Beast Wars had out of scale animal modes, but they were proportional to their robot modes

Megatron may have been a small T-Rex, but he was in scale with Prime and the others while in robot mode, it transformed in a mechanical way, the area and mass did not shift at all, what was there was there to begin with. Or else you would have had retarded shrinking/gorwing stuff happening like with the Beast Machine Maximals.

While watching the G1 cartoon, I never understood why the hell Prime's Trailer would vanish or that shinking/growing transformation for Megatron and Soundwave. I just wanted them to be Toy accurate....that was my big gripe the TV show and the Toys did not match up right, the toys just looked sort of like their TV counterparts. None of this Scinetific Wizardy should be allowed, none I say!

See, I personally disagree with that view... I actually like the fact that G1 toons were NOT toy accurate... I prefer a show with charachters "based on" the toys, as opposed to shows like Armada, Energon, and Cybertron, where it looks like 20 foot tall plastic toy robots walking around with a few anime kids. :roll  They even go so far as to draw the seams in the vehicle's hood if it splits apart in transformation.  That's just going too far, if you ask me... it cheapens the show even more than it already is.  We all know it's a 30 minute toy commercial, can you at least give us some respect and not make it THAT blatant?
