My X used to give me a hard time about collecting while we were together, but her reason was different. She didnt want me wasting my money on transformers because she would rather I spend the money on her. Everytime she came over she would say I want to see the collection, and I would show her, and always she would respond with Why do you need so many transformers?.

That right there led to our break up, well that an her lack of common sense, and decency. But if you like her and can put up with it, or make her see it right then there is a chance, if not and you see it being used against you in the future, then there is no reason to waste your time with her.

heres what i do when someone questions my love for transformers...i sit them down in front of a computer and get onto ebay. when they see how valuable they can be the reaction is usually something like this: :eek

after that, i find that i don't quite get the same kinda flak from them anymore. :thumb

my sister used to give me crap about it until i started showing her their true value. my nephew is still hooked, he'll be going to high school next year and he shows no signs of letting up, and that pisses her off bigtime! :tflaugh

but hey...beats the hell outta her precious beanie baby collection! :tftongue at least the transformers will still be worth something in 10,20,30+ years!!!

good luck getting rid of those beanie babies!!! :wtf

:tfevil

*LMAO for about three hours*

My best friend says they are for babies but he's 15 and he still likes pokemon.

Pokemons gay in my view

Yeah, Pokemon's definitely gay... i mean, look at the concept, little animals trapped inside little balls kept inside some kid named Ash's pockets, and have to do his whim when he pulls them out.... *cough* felcher *cough* :tflaugh1

Seriously, Bruce Campbell needs to kick some serious ass again to bring the name Ash back to good graces :tfgrin

you know there's talks of another evil dead series movie. lets just hope sam raimi is still interested. and that girl, yeah, she's stupid. and a hypocrite if you think about it, i'm sure she's got material wants. all we do is collect transformers, silly little figures they may be, but still it means something to us. if she can't accept that it means something to you, then she can't really accept you can she? and yeah, pokemon is gay, just like yugi-oh, and that other crap. my little brother went from pokemon to yugi, and i thought it was gay but i didn't tell him. he likes the stuff, if someone likes something you don't you shouldn't put them down for it, that just makes them the better person(so, your gf kinda made you the better person). sorry about the long winded speech, though.

I'm not that worried about the situation. She is ditsy, obviosly for using the word "gay" to describe something she thinks is dumb. I'll get over the situation soon enough.

Like the others and meself have said: Try to downplay the prices you paid with "I bought a whole tonne, second hand at a garage sale/end of clearance sale", etc.

If you always have enough money to pay for her or go out with her, then do not fret. try slashing out a bit and say something like "It was this (non existant in reality) TF toy or this (random GF girly gift), so I got this for you!

Everynow and then, a small present (did you know a few red roses are actually quite cheap?) or two will keep her happy.

I got my GF hooked on Hello Kitty.

Considering she's into the Cure, Sandman, stuff from Hot Topic and Primus-Knows what other deviant stuff, she is now the prwd owner of a custom pink hello kitty bicycle and Gambeoy Advanve SP! H eh *rubs hands togther*

Oh, and after I got her one, she now loves Panda-Z!

I feel your pain dude my girl will buy them for me, but she will player hate on some if them. If it was one thing I found out is that a woman will hate any thing you put time &/or money into. So if you like cars, bikes, comics whatever they won't like it. Not saying women are all bad cuz I luv my girl, but a woman can't feel like she is #2 on your list.

I had to learn this with a lot a ladies. :beer
